Title: Jim Park Voting Round 17 Carlton vs Hawthorn
Post by: crashlander on July 25, 2015, 10:22:17 am
What a disaster. Our worst ever loss. There will be consequences.
This was one of the few times I was glad not to be there: I was ill.

Remember:
[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.
[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F.
[4] Votes must add up to 15.

Thank God there are only a few games to go. This was not easy to watch in any form.

I found this game almost impossible to watch, even in bed. Granted that coughing and blowing noses isn’t conducive to watching football, but there was nothing to see from us.
Team:   F
I can’t give anything else for our worst ever defeat.

Votes:
[5.5]   Murphy
[2.5]   Bell
[2]   Kreuzer
[1.5]   Curnow
[1]   Buckley
[1]   Tuohy
[1]   Cripps
[0.5]   Simpson

Explanations:
[5.5]   Murphy:   Murphy cared. His 200th game was a total disaster, but he got 37 possessions and really tried.
[2.5]   Bell:   After half time he was pretty good.
[2]   Kreuzer:   Tried hard in the ruck, but his taps just didn’t go to our advantage.
[1.5]   Curnow:   Did a solid job and kept at it all night.
[1]   Buckley:   Some promising signs for the future.
[1]   Tuohy:   Tried valiantly.
[1]   Cripps:   Cripps worked hard and can put his hand out for his pay this week.
[0.5]   Simpson:   Tried hard, but his kicking was aweful.

Honourable Mentions:
Casboult:   When given the chance he was excellent, but it never got forward and we didn’t kick it long. He took the mark of the round and gave a target.
White:   Tried hard

Very Hard to pick good players.

Murphy 5, easily our best.
Kreuzer 4, not a big influence but his effort and body language never wavered.
Docherty 3, ditto with Kreuzer.
Bell 2, still attacking and taking it on when all was lost.
Tuohy 1, kept his head over the ball all night.

Simpson tried hard but his skills have never been great and last night wasn't any exception, Holman shows glimpses of promise, Buckley has a go but is very erratic, Yarran did some good things but the malady that's affected the team seems to have got to him.
The rest of them were pretty much non events, 4 goals for the night says it all.

Team F:

3: Murphy ...tried hard but didnt really hurt the Hawks
2: Docherty...brave attack on the ball when confronted by Roughead was worth  votes
2: Buckley....kid has a go and for his size he gives what cheek he can
2: Kruezer,,,battled and didnt give up like some
2: Bell...gave Lake some lip
2 Cripps...ok at the coalface
1: Holman:...kicking has improved and has some hardness to his game.
1: Boekhorst....yep he stuffed up and looked panicked but he did improve after half time and his mark was one of our few highlights...prepared to give this bloke
some encouragement as he has some skills..

It may only be Tuesday, but I don't expect a lot more voting this week: this is the worse loss in our history and a lot of people who would normally vote would probably just want to forget it ever happened. I don't blame anyone: it was terrible to watch.
