Miss the scrolling topics at the top right of the page, but still looks pretty neat. We'll see how it goes.yeah - i'm still trying to work out how to keep engaged. that scrolling feed with unread posts was my go to. I dunno what to do now... Just use Recent Posts link at the top of the site. It's alot more comprehensive and gives you a better overview of what's happened since your last visit...

The only ones I have access to are in the home page. That would be a good idea. I'm sorry I didn't explain it very well.Hi Crash,I'm not sure what you mean by this... Do you want me to setup a remote session so I can take a look at your screen?

I was wondering is there a way you can change it, that when you click on a particular post it takes you to the last page of topic rather than defaulting to the first? Just a thought.

That way you can be put back to where you left off on your last visit whether there is 1 post or 100 since then, it remembers. 1 Likes
Re: CSC Upgrade Reply #52 – December 24, 2019, 10:17:46 pm Can I just suggest that this clean-up and upgrade is probably something that was necessary as we seemed to be getting a few bugs in the system. With it's occurrence there will be a few changes that some folks aren't entirely comfortable with or things such as the scrolling bar that may be missed. ( I actually found it a bit of a pain because if I missed the click I had to wait for the topic to scroll around again..and as I got older 'missing the click' happened more often). Spanner generously donates his time to maintain the technical side of the site. It can at times be a time consuming job and some requests may take a bit longer to address, and some may be worthy of discussion of their merits before making a change. By all means point out any changes or tweakings you think may be of benefit but we should probably take a week or two to just get a feel of some of the features of the new format. It may be that there is already some button or bell that addresses an issue. It may also be that some posters are experiencing individual issues specific to them or their browser. Let's list the issues and then Spanner can address them at his convenience. 1 Likes
Re: CSC Upgrade Reply #53 – December 24, 2019, 10:42:15 pm Some relatively minor tweaks, mainly asthetic.1. I'm sure there is a better word for it, but the 'site icon' is now green and says something that i can't read. Back to CSC blue?2. The header banner seems very simplistic. Can the old one be put in place of the plain text?3. Any chance more of a 'Navy' theme? New site is very white. Finally something that might be a tiny bit more technical...4. Can we limit nesting of quotes back to one quote only as we did previously? We've already seen multiple posts quoted within quotes within quotes....very inception. 5. Can we change my 'title' from Kruddlers Ladies Lounge Group to something a little less 'look at me'? Ladies Lounge Mod or something would suffice. 1 Likes
Re: CSC Upgrade Reply #54 – December 25, 2019, 08:54:31 am I also think that the site is too white. And it would be better IMO if quoted text within a reply is a different colour. 1 Likes
Re: CSC Upgrade Reply #55 – December 26, 2019, 01:57:39 pm I think when we consider the wide range of devices modern sites must cater for this is a pretty good upgrade/compromise. I've found it to be more readable, reliably and consistent between my phones and tablets.Users of laptops or desktops have significant power on tap and can always override default site settings if they want to publish a custom style for the site they are viewing, it's not too difficult and a bit of tinkering will quickly get you to a result. Maybe someone with suitable training skills can publish a bit of a "HowTo" that can be left as a Sticky Thread for those interested in making a customisation. I think this update might even cater for user customisable themes at some later stage, perhaps someone wants to volunteer to give Spanner some assistance in this regard, perhaps we've some members with skill in vision assisted interfaces.I think phone and small tablet users will appreciate the new clean look, it's certainly an upgrade on the smaller screens of some devices. It's probably even readable on a SmartTV, we can dump the dumb programming and browse CSC instead! Last Edit: December 26, 2019, 02:02:41 pm by LP 1 Likes

Re: CSC Upgrade Reply #58 – December 29, 2019, 10:22:49 am There have been numerous requests for a darker theme for the CSC site. In response to this, I have created a navy blue theme as an option for those who want it. The default theme will be the original with a white background, but those who want a dark navy blue background can select the "blue" theme within your forum profile. This can be accessed by clicking My Account at the top of the site and then...My Profile > Look and Layout > Click Change ThemeScroll down to the theme called blue and click Use this theme. That's it, you're done. You should now have a dark navy blue theme... Last Edit: December 29, 2019, 01:14:51 pm by Spanner 1 Likes
