Far out. How one sided is this umpiring.

I want to know when Mick is going to open his mouth and tell those brainless fkn forwards that we don't need all 4 of them to fly for a mark. Just brainless.

I think I've figured out a large part of our problem - we don't know how to CHEAT.

The boys are putting in. Now if those visually challenged morons that can sometimes decide the outcome of a game, actually get their decisions correct and realise that there are two teams playing out there, we might have a little snif of beating this best ever team.

Curnow and Walker, having a competition who can turnover the ball more.

Ivan, I've been saying it for years... since the cap penalties we are the cleanest side I have ever seen... zero "gamesmanship", no fudging around the margins... and gees does it show against side like the swines, ducker chuckers and whorks...

Great. Another red time goal.  >:(

Going to script so far with soft frees to home side and plenty of gifted turnovers by us.

Have to give some credit to MIck Me Mate The Master Farter. His defensive set up to combat Buddy is working an absolute treat! Buddy has two on him every time and is getting pissed.

Two things, firstly a semi-apology to Levi. What he did was stupid, but Murphy's kick to him was disgraceful and gave him no chance to mark.

Secondly, I am sick and tired of Mick not having someone at Full Forward in the last minute of a quarter.

Yes, the Swans got a goal, the ball goes back to the centre. What Mick was saying by putting Hendo down there, was, I have got no confidence in us getting the ball out of the center at the bounce. We did, and it's two against one. Just ridiculous.

Does Mick want to win, or does he want to have another honorable loss, so that at the press conference, he can crap on about how well the boys are playing without winning.

Simmo, really out of form the l;ast few weeks. As he's getting older, the rigors of a full season are becoming much harder.

Stood and watched then.

OH FER CRYIN' OUT LOUD - how bad are we at set plays/ball ups?!?

Who are our ruck coaches again?

I like Bell but can he learn to handball. Please.

Title: Re: Carlton vs Sydney (in-game)
Post by: bignic on July 12, 2014, 08:35:20 pm
Mick upset, don't blame him. Sh!!!t handball from Bell, and when you are a struggling side, little things like that, against a top team, kill you.

Now what usually happens,m is that the weaker team, will tend to drop their bundle./

One of our most over rated players.
I hope he gets traded at years end, no matter what we get in return. Just save the cash cause it's wasted there

Title: Re: Carlton vs Sydney (in-game)
Post by: ElwoodBlues1 on July 12, 2014, 08:57:27 pm
Contested footy is the theme of this game and we are doing ok with most players putting in.......Josh Kennedy has been hurting as at stoppages along with Parker and if we can nullify these two we can continue to keep pace with the Swans.
Rowe and Jamo have not been pretty but have been effective on Buddy and I like Casboults continued good form in the air....

Bell has won the footy well but stuffed up one forward entry when he should have given the ball off....the other eorr he was involved in I blamed on Ellard not Bell....not sure why Ellard was picked in the team..

Juddy has been handy along with Gibbs and Murphy who are getting some footy...

Low scoring but an enjoyable game.....

O.K. So he works his guts out. I assume you mean that he's dedicated and trains hard, is a great team man etc etc.

BUT, he still can't stick a tackle, and his disposal has always been a major weakness. Yes, he can fly for a mark, big deal.

He has never mastered  two of the basic skills that are required to make a top line footballer.

But, heis in a team where we are not exactly over-run with class players. That's why we are where we are, so he gets away with it.

Not saying that he doesn't try, but that alone is not good enough in this day and age.

The consistent whinge on this forum is that our players stand back and watch play - walker gets in there - he should be in our forward line but he's not he's down back where errors cost goals BUT you see how much he gets it - as Laidler so very well out it in the prerecorded interview prior to the game, he's still mates with the players and they don't know what they should do and have lost confidence in their ability.

Yarran has been poor this game I reckon. Has had a couple of chances to go for a hard ball but chosen to stay out of it.
Rowe has been good spoiling but gee he panics hen in possession.
Curnow has cost us with his turnovers but then done some good things in return.
Ellard....I just dont see the value in him.
McLean has been OK but gee he's slow.
We've has one shining light and thats been Casboult. When the ball in the air near him, he's just clunking everything. great to see.

We have a fair few players down tonight so far so if they can play better.....we're in this!!

I've watched the game for 60 years, and believe it or not NOTHING has changed.

Top teams will always be favoured by the umpires. And I mean always.

Star players will always get the benefit of the doubt. And I mean always.

Walker, Rowe, etc don't have the ability to compete against the top players. So they try to get away with holding.

Walker has been doing it for years. now when it's against Joe blogs, the umps let it go. When it's against Goodes, or Ablett and star players like that, he will get pinged every time. And he has never learnt.

Do you or any one else for that matter, really believe that Rowe would get a game at the Swans, geelong, Hawthorn, Port, even the filth? He's in the team because we don't have anyone else. His lack of ability and lack of a football brain, which is why he always panics under pressure, will ensure that if Mick is really going to rebuild, despite the admiration that Mick has for Rowe, he will not be in our best side either next year, or the year after.

Just  for interest, since the game is boring, have any of you noticed how as soon as some players get a bit of publicity in a week after they have played well, they can't get a touch the next week.

A few years ago, Betts, garletrt, and Yarran got the title the three amigos and there was a double page spread about them. They had starred for a few weeks. After that article, they barely got a touch and never really functioned well together.

Eddie copped a lot of publicity last week, after kicking 5 goals. Double page spread in the H. S. etc. This week, when the Crows could have done with 5 goals from him, 3 possessions.

Levi, lots of publicity, greatest mark in the league and so on. Haven't counted and don't know his possys, but he's had no effect on the game, even in the first half when we were putting in. Oh well.

Thinking the players have less interest than we have. Let me guess, the big cull will be the big news item again tomorrow

Levi has marked what's come to him.

Daisy is a dud recruit as is Malthouse

Hasn't marked like last week. Mind you the opposition is 10 classes above last weeks.

But my point is that it doesn't matter who they are, unless they are an out and out champion, after they get a serve of publicity, they rarely perform as well the next week.

We are light years away from being a competitive top 8 team based on what we are witnessing tonight.  :(

But we are a very good bottom 8 team.

Hang on, I forgot, Brisbane, Melbourne and GWS beat us.

I take that back. :-[ :-[

Levi had a decent night, has 7 marks, alot of them good ones. He and Rowe are a couple of our most improved players. Problem is most of the other lazy, disinterested pr1cks that don't like hard work. Go from a half where basically one-sided umpiring stopped us leading at half time, to 13 goals down a qtr and a half later. That's just garbage.

I reckon Levi will be a good player for us when he gets better with his ground skills and does more with his second efforts.

Rowe, hasn't got it. It's as simple as that. Just watched him a minute a go. he had no idea what to do. he can't perform under pressure, and is just not good enough.

If you think that Rowe is a player that is going to help us make the 8, then I believe you are sadly mistaken.

The sad part is , in the NB team, there is little that hasn't been tried already to come up and make much difference

There will be some sort of clean out, despite the denials, and it will be more of the same next year, unfortunately.

So pleased MM bought Daisy over what a superstar

What the fork does this have to do with tonight's performance? He's done more than most in the side tonight including Judd. You should be forking pleased that MM is gonna cut a third of this team loose at years end. Focusing on Thomas is just opportunistic rubbish.

For the sake of my health and that of the TV, I can't watch Carlton games live on TV, so my choice of keeping myself updated is via the comments here & the AFL website for the score/stats. I feel ill right about now & am more than happy to never see a single second of this game.....the first half sounded half-decent, but this second half......yikes.

I reckon Thomas will be great next year with a full pre-season under his belt.

The problem is, that we probably won't have a much better side than we have this year.

They should start with the coach, for the very few that have improved far more have gone backwards under MM and faster than any since we appointed Pagan.

Daisy might be nothing more than MMs version of Mick Martyn?

On paper we don't look that sh1t. Problem starts when they run onto the ground. It's more the fact they have a poor work ethic, poor culture and a poor attitude. You get the same result as being sh1t. It's more disappointing than being sh1t to be honest.

In the competition between Waite and walker to see who can fall over and lose their footing more during a match, Walker is 36 falling overs' in front.

I heard that Waite is desperate to get back into the team so that he has a chance of catching up. ::) ::)

Robert walls once told me that after he had coached Brissy to a 100 point loss one night, on the way home, he went through all the players he decided to drop for the next game. he came up with 16 of them.

he said that he realised that you never make those decisions on the night after a game.

I reckon Mick would drop 10 of them if he could. But he won't.

This team is not a team. They rarely look like they are enjoying themselves. Lucky they MM told us Syd was the best team going around in the past 40 years.

When is MM going to be held accountable to some of you?
