2017 Rd 8: In Game Angst: Carlton vs St Kilda

All ready for Saturday. I'll be training down this round.

2nd half of that 1st qtr, got control with precise kicking, slowed the tempo right down and didn't give the ball back to their speedy types through the middle, allowed us to get some goals on the board and narrow the gap..

Boltons coaching is on show.

Apart from early in the quarter we blocked them using the corridor. Making it a lot harder to spread when taking the ball wide. 

Hope our young boys can do it for another 3 quarters

We look ok and have had some great moments. Sammo's fake was just gold!
Our 4 goals in the first - 2 to jack and 1 each to Charlie Curnow and Weitering - good to see the future on display.
Reckon they've still been the better team but if we keep trying like this and go down to a better team I can live with it as part of the rebuild.

Strange game.
St Kilda look too slick on the fast break but are making plenty of mistakes and somehow we're well in it.
Kreuzer and Murphy awesome, Silvagni showing plenty.
We could battle out a win or get beaten by 5 or 6 goals.
The only thing in this world worth more than a hill of beans is the Carlton Football Club.

The guys on Grandstand AFL (radio) are talking about how impressed they were with the way we changed tactics in the 1st, by realizing that we couldn't keep up with the Saints, so we made greater efforts to slow the play as much as possible. So the Saints are trying to frustrate us with leg and ball speed, and we're trying to frustrate them by slowing things up.

Hi bluebaggers.

We certainly haven't looked too dominant. There's plenty on show from the youngsters. Doc and Jack had a sensational first half. If we continue to grind on and pressure aints to errors, we're a chance.
