You are allowed to carry a gun if you are going fishing, camping, hunting or target shooting in Florida.

However, some may argue that Donald is the biggest duck of all! ;)
I posted in this thread or another just a couple of weeks back about US based associates I have who brag about shooting deer within a couple of hundred metres(yards I suppose) of their own back door in what we would describe as an outer suburb like Deer Park or Cranbourne. It's completely insane.

Fake news.
The fake inference is that Donald "The Bullet Dodger" Trump actually dodge a bullet!

If I wanted a conspiracy, then I suppose if you were going to stage a fake assassination attempt, getting captured alive and unharmed without firing a shot would be the way to do it! ;D

I had some sympathy for The Bullet Dodger after the first attempt, this one I'm not so sure about, it feels like a learned behaviour, turned out he is a republican but he was driving around in a car with Biden Harris stickers, that's not suss at all! :o

But seriously, it's The Bullet Dodger's rhetoric that drums up all this trouble, nobody else makes any significant contribution in comparison to The Bullet Dodger himself. When he opens his mouth it's like Genghis Khan accusing the nearby Nun of starting a fight!

The Bullet Dodger is making life meaner and more dangerous for everybody on the planet, and he is not even sitting in the big chair, he was fired from that spot years ago!

If someone is lying in wait with an assault rifle, they're unlikely to be an autograph hunter.  It's fair to say that the secret service foiled an assassination attempt ... by a MAGA nutjob!
Yes I agree, but that is not how it's being portrayed by the GOP, the special agents ended this before it started as was the early report, the GOP and sections of the media are painting it like Trump has emerged unscathed from The Destruction of Sennacherib.

Much of the F1 establishment, at least the bit we see dominated by the Sky race crew (Nearly all of them Brits), are throwing their weight behind Lando Norris after Piastri's second win. Comments like, "this doesn't mean anything for team tactics" or "Lando is still the No.1". For those not following, Lando is a bit of a chosen one in Brit land.

Reality is Piastri has looked a class above from the day he started, back when his arrival clearly signalled the demise of Ricciardo, at least to me.

Piastri is cooler behind the wheel, doesn't break the machine, is technically excellent, smooth as silk, gets the job done with minimal fuss or bluster, does the right thing, behaves predictably, seems relentless, and appears to be marketable. These are not small scalps Piastri is claiming, he is making some old heads look like rookies. It comes with a bit of push back.

I can't wait to see what Jack Doohan is capable of, he is a racer type like his old man.

Today as reported just hours after the initial event, the special investigators have confirmed the shooter never actually fired a shoot!

In the meantime, Trump continues to accuse Democrats of trying to kill him, while lauding himself as a survivor of a second assassination attempt!

The USA doesn't need any extra enemies when it has a friend like Elon Musk!

Musk seems motivated to keep the US parties as close to a stalemate as possible, I suppose that delivers the cheapest bang for buck option to the big corporates in terms of a dollars for influence basis. If either party dominate, things get tougher and more expensive for Elon.

A lot of people paint Musk as pro-Trump, but if you take a global view then you find outside of the USA, his companies like Starlink, Tesla or X can take a corporate political position that is the polar opposite.

I gather that is not by accident, he can then offer himself as the solution to both sides of the debate, probably disingenuous but very very profitable!

The only way I can deal with being saturated with Trump's behaviour is to take the piss out of him, there are real world consequences that many people have to live with because of that blockheads loud mouth antics!

You'd think that they would be relying on more sophisticated security surveillance than an agent prowling ahead of Aurangzeb's party.  Of course, it's possible that the agent was alerted to the presence of the gunman by a thermal imaging drone or similar.
Weather permitting they do use high altitude drones around the candidates similar to our new MQ-4C Triton, the cost of protecting him shooting his mouth off without restraint is astronomical.

Years ago I did some work in Tuscon, part of it was with a company making optical parts, some of them turned out to be for the space spy telescopes, one of which would go on to become Hubble ST. I didn't know that at the time, I'm not sure anybody in the company knew what they were for, but the optical engineer did the math and told me the optics as designed if made to specification could resolve a person standing on a street corner reading a newspaper from geostationary orbit. They also had a fancy interferometer, that when pointed towards a brick or concrete wall could record conservations being held on the other side of the wall just from the vibrations in the masonry. We only found this out by accident, because we were making too much noise and f0rked up their calibration process. Not suggesting they use that stuff for Trump, but it's an idea of the capability they had 30 years ago!

There are several privately held US companies that sub-contract drone surveillance to regional law enforcement, maybe Florida is one of those regions. It was actually considered for Victoria a few years back, the authorities get a time lapse view of vehicle and foot traffic movements that can be rewound in real time. I think much of it is now displaced by voluntary schemes like the one here in Victoria that allows people to register web and security cameras for the free use by Vicpol.

In summary, we have no idea what they have and haven't got, it's far more than you think but not as much as Hollywood suggests.

But how quick did they spot and capture this guy - anyone would think they already knew he was going to be there......  :-X
They've already broadcast a live on air interview with the special agent who spotted "The Shooter", took a pot shot at him, and then reported the vehicle number plate to authorities as he tried to escape.

Given the events that unfolded, I'm pegging disgruntled GOP supporter.

But given Trump's financial history, it could be a disgruntled creditor!

I believe Trump has already filed an appeal with the Golf Club Committee for a Muliigan! ;D

Trying to kill somebody is abhorrent, Trump is making the world a meaner more dangerous place, if he can't save himself he's happy to flush it all down the crapter! As a result of Trump's behaviour public life is now more dangerous to pretty much everyone around the globe, and possibly including the general public!

Trump's crew are out claiming he luckily avoided shots, and it now appears the "shots heard" were Secret Service operatives shooting the at the bloke carrying the rifle.

Have the GOP learned that someone taking a potshot at Trump boosts his figures?

Blah-Blah Bar / Re: Trumpled (Alternative Leading)
Trump's MAGA crew are claiming the Democrats are trying to kill him, are they that stupid they think the Democrats want the GOP to choose a different potentially better opponent? Even MAGA people are face-palming at Trump rallies now!

Trump's own people no longer want him, he's in big trouble if he doesn't accept the writing on the wall.

Trump owes big money to his most serious opponents, they get 4/5ths of feck all if someone offs him, the big dollar people need Trump to be held accountable for his financial crimes! It's much much harder to go after his estate, which begs the question, could it be an inside job, could somebody on the inside be trying to preserve the family inheritance?

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Are we "hard" enough
Hardness in modern football is the relentless running and repeat efforts, without wanting to be offensive to the greats of the past, the likes of McClure, Dom and Buckley would spew up their ring if they had to run 13km in a game at the intensity of modern footballers!

Most of those pre-80s era blokes hardly left their zone, from that generation maybe only Ashman and a couple of others might be at home aerobically, of the next-Gen types Sheldon, English maybe Marcou would be competitive.

The 90s onwards it was different, basically defined by blokes like Robert Harvey, Flower or Craig Bradley, they are basically the same as modern footballers, Diesel, Kouta, etc., etc.. would be right at home. But people talked about Bradley and Harvey like they were freaks of nature, now they are all like that, and trust me it's as hard as hard gets!

I know that opinion is harsh, those past harder era players the run they had is matched today but by mediums and talls. BigH runs further than most pre-90s onballers. Obviously, modern players might go down like a proverbial "Bag of @#$!" if an 80s era player could actually catch them, but that is something very different.

There is the issue of having the right mix of introverts and extraverts, but you don't want to go too far on that, not like the Dawks, it comes back to bite you!

............. as for Israel's response to Hamas ...what were they expecting a quiet diplomatic protest from the Israel? It was always going to be quick , nasty and with interest attached and given the nature of events I can understand why its been disproportionate.
There are many who profit heavily from war on both sides of the strip, the will to resolve the conflict is weak.
