QAnon

This is a summary of QAnon nonsense.

QAnon started with tweets from someone who took the username Q. This person claimed to be at the top levels of the US Govt and would drip-feed cryptic tweets forecasting big events. Apparently, Qhas been silent since December’s but his followers are now continuing the conspiracies w/o him/her.

A central belief is that Democrats run child sex rings and drink the blood of children during satanic rituals. The other central belief is that Trump was and is Q and he was preparing “the Storm” during which the FBI and military would round up Democrats and execute them in public. This was supposed to happen on a number of dates over the last few years, but the date would simply be moved whenever the Storm didn’t happen.

QIdiots believed Trump would declare martial law before Inauguration Day and General Flynn, a noted QIdiot, was publicly calling for Trump to declare Martial law. Then the insurrection on 6 Jan was supposed to lead to Trump’s triumphant return. Then the prediction was that Biden and the crowd attending his inauguration would be rounded up and executed (the stage erected being quickly convertible into gallows). Trump would then take the stage and be inaugurated.

Confused that there was no Storm on Inauguration Day, QAnoners tried to bend reality to suit their beliefs. One theory was that all presidencies after the 18th have been invalid because around that time Washington DC was incorporated. This supposedly meant there had been a corporate takeover of the government of the people. Inauguration Day was March 4 back then and the conspiracy theory is the Storm will occur on that day with Trump being inaugurated as the 19th President of the United States. Law enforcement tracking the chatter believe this poses a credible threat and it looks like Congress will take a day off as a result.

Another branch of QIdiots believe that Trump was actually inaugurated on 20 January while wearing a Biden mask. They point to Biden wearing masks all the time as proof: apparently Trump’s people haven’t worked out yet how to sync up the mouth with the words as yet. But wait, there’s even more evidence! Biden signed 17 Executive Orders on his 1st day in office. That just happens to be a significant number for QIdiots. It also matches the 17 flags displayed during Trump’s farewell at the Air Force base before flying to Florida in disgrace.

If anyone comes across any QAnon insanity, please post in this thread!

Wow, who would have tipped this? March 4 has come & gone but there was no Storm and Trump wasn’t inaugurated. Wonder what the new date for the Storm will be ...

What a horror story. Sounds like the rantings and delusions of people who've taken a cocktail of way too many magic mushrooms, LSD & cocaine before submitting themselves to mass lobotomies.

Looks like 60 minutes is doing a story on this and its Australian influence this Sunday.

Interesting test of QAnon’s self-professed raisin d’être: protecting children from sex trafficking.

Matt Gaetz, GOP Congressman and attack dog for Trump, is in the middle of a sex-trafficking scandal. It looks like he has come to the FBI’s notice during an investigation into a close Gaetz ally, Seminole County tax collector Joel Greenberg for sex-trafficking. I’ve seen a selfie taken by Greenberg of Gaetz & he with Roger Stone: birds of a feather.

It’s not altogether clear, but it looks as though the FBI is investigating an allegation that Gaetz, 38, paid for a 17 year old girl to travel between States with him or to visit him. Gaetz has made the extraordinary claim that there never was any 17 year old girl and he was the victim of an extortion attempt by a former FBI prosecutor who was demanding big dollars or he would smear him with this allegation. He claimed his father wore a wire on 2 occasions at the behest of the FBI to obtain evidence against the alleged blackmailer.

The problem for Gaetz is that the FBI is keeping mum about the investigation. If Gaetz were a totally innocent victim of an ex-FBI blackmailer, it would be incumbent on the FBI to acknowledge that. Even if Gaetz is correct about the blackmail attempt, that doesn’t mean he didn’t commit a sex-trafficking offence. It’s much easier to blackmail someone who’s guilty of a serious offence.

The other interesting feature of this case is that the investigation started while Bill Barr was the A/G and the FBI apparently kept Barr apprised of developments. That makes it harder for Gaetz to claim this has been cooked up by Biden allies.

You’d think that this would give the QIdiots pause, but no! They’re right behind Gaetz. They see the Deep State reaching out to hurt Trump and his allies. Won’t anyone think of the children? Apparently, no ...

As a side note, I’m not 100% convinced the US sex-trafficking laws are entirely reasonable. They turn on movement between States as that allows the Federal Government to claim jurisdiction over what would otherwise be State offences. In most States, I’d imagine the age of consent would be 16. That means there’s no offence committed where a 70 year old man has sex with a 16 year old girl. We’d all condemn such behaviour and would be disgusted by it. Most of us would be disgusted if Gaetz at 38 used his power and money to get a 17 year old into bed, but should it be a crime?

Then again, if you want to stop rich guys like Epstein in effect flying in 16 & 17 year old girls (and younger perhaps) to prostitute them, having this type of law would be a good start.

There’s also an analogy with our own laws about child pornography. An old guy can legally have sex with a 16 year old girl, but he commits an offence if he has a naked photo of her. And it becomes more bizarre when a 16 year old girl sexts a naked photo to her 16 year old boyfriend. Although they can legally have sex, that photo makes both the girl and the boy sex offenders.

The other funny thing about this scandal is that the so-called sting involving the father allegedly didn’t produce a smoking gun. Apparently, it just involved what could be strategising about how to deal with the allegation of sex-trafficking up to and including the far-fetched possibility of a pardon from Biden, and what the cost of those strategies might be. The problem for Gaetz is that those discussions were par for the course amongst Trump allies and donors, so it’ll be hard for the prosecution to prove that in this case the alleged offender(s) weren’t crisis PR guys.

And there’s a definite just deserts aspect too. Trump and his allies have made an art of keeping enough plausible deniability regarding their attempts to incite violence and the like. They aren’t the only ones who can play that game!

The other amusing part of this scandal is that Gaetz went on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show and proceeded to rant about the alleged extortion attempt, leaving Carlson bemused. But Gaetz also dropped Carlson in it by saying Carlson was also subject to a claim of sexual assault in the past, so he should know what it feels like to be smeared! Pretty sure most of his viewers wouldn’t have known about that! Not a bad way to throw a bit of mud at Fox’s biggest star and some would say potential GOP candidate at the 2024 Presidential election ...
