2013 Jim Park Medal for CSC's B & F

I won't bother transferring over all of the old posts. However, I will update the voting for last week's game shortly (although that may be tomorrow - my wife wants me to read stories to my girls).
Suffice to say it was a lot more positive than this week's debacle will be. I have no idea how many people will vote.

Carlton vs. Sydney Voting:
A shocking night in the wet, but we did have a go. Not a big spread in votes.

Votes:
Henderson, Lachie 385
Simpson, Kade 269
Judd, Chris 166
Gibbs, Bryce 127
Kreuzer, Matthew 101
Walker, Andrew 20
Cachia, Jarryd 17
McLean, Brock 11
Yarran, Chris 11
Curnow, Edward 9

To be honest, I can't think of a smaller spread of votes in recent times. However, with the Collingwood debacle to come that may change.  :'( :'(

Progressives:
1827 - Walker, Andrew (0)
1717 - Judd, Chris (0)
1525 - Henderson, Lachie (0)
1441 - Garlett, Jeff (0)
1126 - McLean, Brock (0)
1017 - Murphy, Marc (0)
977 - Gibbs, Bryce (0)
865 - Waite, Jarrad (0)
749 - Kreuzer, Matthew (0)
704 - Simpson, Kade (0)
698 - Jamison, Michael (0)
626 - Yarran, Chris (0)
500 - Armfield, Dennis (0)
375 - Warnock, Robert (0)
317 - Cachia, Jarryd (0)
304 - Robinson, Mitch (0)
303 - Scotland, Heath (0)
273 - Tuohy, Zac (0)
206 - White, Simon (0)
189 - Lucas, Kane (0)
182 - Carrazzo, Andrew (0)
178 - Betts, Eddie (0)
150 - Curnow, Edward (0)
80 - Hampson, Shaun (0)
62 - Casboult, Levi (0)
15 - Bell, Tom (0)
14 - Rowe, Sam (0)
6 - Ellard, David (0)
5 - Menzel, Troy (0)
4 - Buckley, Dylan (0)
3 - Duigan, Nicholas (0)

There have been a few guys catching up to Walker recently, as his stellar early form has gradually faded. However, Jeff Garlett has also come to a standstill and doesn't look like challenging. Hoping that he and Eddie and Yazz can find something soon.....

The change over really robbed of voting power this week, but I am sure that will change as more people find their way over to here.

Mind you, the Collingwood game didn't give us much to wax lyrical about. It was our worst display of the year by some margin. The poor spread of votes demonstrates that few people thought there were many decent contributors.

Votes:
Judd, Chris 364
Simpson, Kade 201
Kreuzer, Matthew 195
Lucas, Kane 170
McLean, Brock 94
Walker, Andrew 88
Henderson, Lachie 50
Tuohy, Zac 44
Cachia, Jarryd 38
Jamison, Michael 25
Carrazzo, Andrew 25
McInnes, Andrew 25

Lucas garnered a few votes this week, even though he really had his moment. However, he got more ball than anyone else for us on the night.
A year or 2 ago a 29 possession game by Judd would have been a match winning effort. Alas, not this year.
Andrew McInnes made a contribution in his first game back. Well done.

Progressives:
2081 - Judd, Chris (0)
1915 - Walker, Andrew (0)
1576 - Henderson, Lachie (0)
1441 - Garlett, Jeff (0)
1221 - McLean, Brock (0)
1017 - Murphy, Marc (0)
977 - Gibbs, Bryce (0)
943 - Kreuzer, Matthew (0)
906 - Simpson, Kade (0)
865 - Waite, Jarrad (0)
723 - Jamison, Michael (0)
626 - Yarran, Chris (0)
500 - Armfield, Dennis (0)
375 - Warnock, Robert (0)
359 - Lucas, Kane (0)
355 - Cachia, Jarryd (0)
317 - Tuohy, Zac (0)
304 - Robinson, Mitch (0)
303 - Scotland, Heath (0)
207 - Carrazzo, Andrew (0)
206 - White, Simon (0)
178 - Betts, Eddie (0)
150 - Curnow, Edward (0)
80 - Hampson, Shaun (0)
62 - Casboult, Levi (0)
26 - McInnes, Andrew (0)

14 - Rowe, Sam (0)
6 - Ellard, David (0)
5 - Menzel, Troy (0)
4 - Buckley, Dylan (0)
3 - Duigan, Nicholas (0)

Juddy has overtaken Walker to grab the lead, with more than one guy close behind.

Thought Walks would coast to victory. Remember something similar happening in 2011 with Murphy actually so let's see if Walker can get things back on track (though I'm sure coaches are put more time into him now)

A much better result, and a much better turnout. In fact, it has been quite a while since this many people voted.

Votes:
Judd, Chris 383
Henderson, Lachie 319
Simpson, Kade 257
Kreuzer, Matthew 82
Rowe, Sam 81
Cachia, Jarryd 69
Lucas, Kane 22
McLean, Brock 18
Tuohy, Zac 18
Walker, Andrew 17
Gibbs, Bryce 12
Jamison, Michael 8
Murphy, Marc 7
Betts, Eddie 7
Curnow, Edward 7
McInnes, Andrew 3

The top 3 vote getters were considered the best 3 by some margin, with not a lot of difference between them.

Progressives:
2464 - Judd, Chris (0)
1932 - Walker, Andrew (0)
1895 - Henderson, Lachie (0)

15 - Bell, Tom (0)
6 - Ellard, David (0)
5 - Menzel, Troy (0)
4 - Buckley, Dylan (0)

Juddy has opened up quite a lead, but not an insurmountable one. Hopefully he will keep his form up. Hendo has got very close to Walker, so the race is open.

A win is a win is a win, and a 1 point thriller is enough to call for medical intervention, but in the end, we still won.

Matty Watson garnered his first votes for the season, while most of the rewards went to Simmo and Kreuzer. Juddy failed to poll a vote, and we still won.

A strong win, even if we didn't have our kicking boots on.

I'm a day or 3 behind this week, but I don't think it matters that much. Yesterday's pounding at the hands of the Dogs feels more immediate.
Never mind, I've analyzed the votes and here they are:

Votes:
Simpson, Kade 365
Scotland, Heath 288
Tuohy, Zac 258
Judd, Chris 70
Watson, Matthew 68
Henderson, Lachie 26
Kreuzer, Matthew 26
Robinson, Mitch 18
Walker, Andrew 11
Armfield, Dennis 9
McLean, Brock 7
Gibbs, Bryce 5
Garlett, Jeff 4

Rarely has there been such a clear and dominant top 3 vote getters. Considering that all 3 were a part of the defence that has to handle the small forwards (who killed us), that says something about the way we played.

Progressives:
2538 - Judd, Chris (0)

With Judd out for the season, one would expect Hendo to end up on top, but weirder things have happened. Walker has continued to stagnate.

Blues vs. Dogs: Disaster Day

Probably our most uninspired effort for the year. No clear winners with injuries to Judd, Watson and Garlett.

Having both Judd and Watson getting votes when neither finished the game does say something about how we played. Unfortunately. it says nothing positive.

Judd holds a small lead, but one good game from Hendo could see that lead be whittled away. Close behind them as well - particularly for 3rd and 4th spots.

This is in an interesting position.

Simmo had a huge game against Essendon and a good game V port might see him snatch the lead.

Similarly Hendo is within striking distance if he tears Port apart.

The question is if we get a free ride into the finals, does Judd return?

The club seems to be of the opinion that Judd will play any finals we play. I can understand why he may want to, but I'd much rather him be 100%. This season is not going to end well, no matter whether Judd plays or not. I'd rather have him have a perfect preseason and a great 2014, unlikely as a perfect preseason is.

The way the votes are coming out suggests that Simmo could almost bridge the gap. Next weekend against Port will tell the tale.

I don't know how I missed the Essendon game last week, especially as I had tallied up all of the votes. Nichevo. Here they are:

Rd 22: Blues fall to Magic Potion and Poor Kicking:
Votes:
Simpson, Kade 506
Curnow, Edward 144
Yarran, Chris 131
Bell, Tom 92
Menzel, Troy 84
Jamison, Michael 54
Warnock, Robert 43
Murphy, Marc 13
Scotland, Heath 9
Robinson, Mitch 9
Joseph, Aaron 6
Armfield, Dennis 2
Duigan, Nicholas 2

With Simmo getting a large number of votes, the leadership did change.
AJ was dropped after a pretty good game, but we do have a number of guys like him playing well. Menzel showed signs of what we all hope is the future.

Rd 23: Carlton defeat Port after an excellent comeback.
Votes:
Gibbs, Bryce 281
Murphy, Marc 277
Walker, Andrew 203
Yarran, Chris 170
Curnow, Edward 157
Simpson, Kade 120
Betts, Eddie 37
Warnock, Robert 21
Garlett, Jeff 12
Armfield, Dennis 8
Duigan, Nicholas 8
Bell, Tom 4
Kreuzer, Matthew 4

A very even spread at the top, with Gibbs just leading the way.
I wish I had seen at least some of the game, but that is another story.

It is his to win, if he can turn in the sort of effort required. However, Simmo will be hard to pass on his present form. Even hendo or AW can make up the gap, but their form has not been as good over the last few weeks.
