One big and very noticeable difference was Saad.  When he puts his foot to the metal, he has seriously fast wheels.

Like Cieran Byrne, but with more idea of what he actually doing!!!  We havent had that sort of run off HB for years

Footage of Hurley hobbling around the boundary on crutches, looks like he is almost shot- reckon if he plays much footy this year it would be a miracle.
His right leg looked seriously wasted away.

What you say has some merit.
However, if that's our focus teague should get the sack.
We have one of the best young forward talents in the league, the ONLY thing holding him back is between his ears and he's made it a focus in the off-season.
Nothing boasts confidence like kicking a few goals and getting a win.
He will be our lone key forward this year with the injuries we have and he needs belief. Belief in himself and the system.
We will win more games this year with a confident, fit and firing Harry then we will by making space inside 50
You can't burn team-mates for your own benefit, they have to believe you're in it "for them and for yourself", not for yourself at their expense.

It's that "we together" mentality that generates sacrifice, and creates those blocks and shepherds that the likes of the Nthmond running brigade hand out for Dusty or Reiwoldt. Those things we see off the ball that we hate seeing go unpenalized, mostly because we do not do it too!

My missus noticed in one section of footage he was wrapped in a blanket shivering while standing in the sun listening to the coaches huddle, that is not the sign of someone who is well.

The media said he was fighting a hip infection, I gather it wasn't your run of the mill day to day issue he has been battling! So we wish him well, we don't wish that sort of misfortune on anybody, be it one of ours or one of theirs!

Burn team mates? I don't think the pass came off. He burned his team by not taking the shot.

If i'm his teammate and i see him with the ball 40-odd out, i WANT him to have a shot. Thats his role.

Reckon it will be refined as time goes on.  We NEED forward options aplenty.  As you said Baggers, it was a hitout.  Imagine Saad will cause some chaos as well.

Yep. Let's not start jumping at shadows yet.
Only our ruthless best, from Board to bootstudders will get us no. 17

I know it was just a pricey match hit out against an opposition team and I have said in the past I never want to see Callum Moore in a Carlton jumper every again but...
I have to admit, he a did a few nice things and his pace for a big fella is impressive. In one ruck contest, he buttered up, gathered the ball below his knees at full tilt and burst out of the middle. He sprayed the kick a little but the idea was there.

I saw that and was impressed.

I thought that he played quite well, in fact amazingly well for a bloke who I thought was nowhere near AFL standard.
“Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don’t you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?”  Oddball

The game wasn't AFL standard....Dow dominated and (according to you) Moore played well. That is proof enough its not AFL standard. ;)

Purely for research purposes, I checked scanned through the replay:
Qtr 1 - He did a burst out the centre at around the 17 min mark after receiving a HB from Dow. He rucked the middle part of the qtr.
Qtr 2 - Didn't play, OMac provided relief for Pitto in the middle of the second.
Qtr 3 - Minute 17:55. buttered and burst out the middle spraying the kick (thats the one we remembered)
Qtr 4 - Didn't play, OMac provided relief for Pitto in the middle of the forth.
So I was right, he did "a couple" (literally) of nice things.

So.....keep him on for the year based on that?

I can't. Oscar maybe. Helps down back too.

Dont fancy Moore vs Richmond rnd1...he wont touch it and his opponents like Nankervis in the ruck or Grimes, Astbury, Balta etc down back will tear us a new one.
Who did Essendon have in the ruck...kids?
McDonald probably makes more sense, any long term injury to Jones or JW and we would be done for the year without some cover IMO.
