Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Post Game Passion: AFL 2019 Rd 6: Carlton vs. Hawthorn
I wonder if Bolton will take any blame for this mess. We were tactically outplayed in the 2nd half. It was obvious that we needed to run and carry the ball and yet we persisted with kicking the ball to contests. Umps did get them back in the game in the 3rd followed by brain fades and our lead evaporated.
Losing simmo, Newman and Humphrey hurt us big time.

If you were coach yesterday, what would you have done different to win us the game?
That’s the issue, there is nothing you can do on game day when the game plan that you train 4-5 a week is no good. It’s too complicated and convoluted.
Best example I can give you is our tackling. We tackle around the waist and don’t look to lock the hands. Other teams specifically tackle by grabbing on to the hands, hence they get more Holding the Ball calls in comparison to us.

We were beaten by a team they had 100 more disposals than us. Pretty much all uncontested.

This could have been winnable, but we were easily out coached on game day. Again.
I have lost all faith I had in BB. I firmly believe he isn’t the coach to take us to the next level. With that’s said I do believe there is still a place for him at the club, just not as head coach.

At this rate we’ll struggle to keep Crippa at the club. 2 weeks now we have been overrun by a side with a player less than us in the last qtr. Simply out coached. Bolton May be a great development coach, and yes I can see the improvement in the players, our game plan is simply not good enough. We are consistently the prey, the hunted, instead of being the hunters.
I was against getting rid of Ratten and I wouldn’t be against offering Ratten the job again.

I think we need to work out if Kreuzer is going on next year.
If he is, moth ball him. Get some games in to Lobbe. He was ok on the weekend, and I would rather him than a half fit Kreuzer, who may leave us one down again.
Saw Big Kreuz at Carlton’s kids clinic not long ago and my observation was the the big fella was simply “tired”. He did and said all the right things but it just seemed that everything he did was laboured and came with a lot of effort. I fear his body might not be holding up as well as it used to. Maybe we need to look at a 16 game schedule for him next year where he can do his absolute best and also have time to recover.

They've near all shown something, you know it, I know it. It's up to the coaching staff to get the best out of them, which they are not. Be the same if any of those other good picks at other clubs came to us, We'd turn them to crap. We could turn Dustin Martin to crap.

Truth be told, Dusty has been pretty average this year, with that said we would have turned him into a spud

Umpiring was atrocious again. Umpire 32 killed us! As far as the game, Big H was right in front of me when he kicked the banana. Get excited blue baggers. I think we were witnes to the start of something special. SOJ looked out of sorts, lost at times. I’m afraid he won’t make it. LOB played ok, still a little nervous when kicking. Simon and Rowe were solid. Plowman has a shocker but he made an effort every time. He does have a resting bitch face though lol.
Dow, starting to make his mark but needs to build his tank. I am sick and tired of SPS pulling out of contests and going for the soft gets. Showed glimpses of brilliance but I don’t think we’ve found the right spot for him. O’Shea and mullet should play in the 2s and help develop the younger kids. Daisy was outstanding again. I felt for him, Lycett flattened him and the fella got back up and straight into the contest. Can’t doubt daisy’s Courage and heart. If I was Bolton I’d be replaying that for the team all week.
Cripps was a beast! Murphy has to resign the captaincy.... no need to wait.

the perfect scenario for a "rocky" win. Back against the wall, senior players out, opponent that thinks they cant lose yet play mcg poorly. We're a chance! The young kids have one game in them every season where they play out of their skin. Last year was GWS, this could be another one

Seems a bit of a whipping boy is Cuningham, thought he went ok vs Nth and was better than most, Mullet isnt contributing much
and looks out of his depth having to defend, rather than just accumulate easy receives...
Kruezer out is going to hurt us given NitWits form....Weitering injured or dropped? or is too hard to drop a No 1 pick...

I worry about weitering. I fear we may break him. A couple of weeks rest and a plan to bring him back as an intercept defender will do him a lot of good.
I hate the Cunningham omission
