AFL Rd 3: Carlton vs North Melbourne
Rating:      A
A win by almost ten goals is worth an A, especially as North do have a bunch of talented youngsters who kicked 3 of the first 4 goals (granted that the Umpire helped significantly). Still, we won every quarter and finished the game off.

Votes:
[2]   Patrick Cripps
[2]   George Hewett
[2]   Harry McKay
[1.5]   Matthew Kennedy
[1]   Jacob Weitering
[1]   Elijah Hollands
[1]   Adam Cerra
[1]   Adam Saad
[1]   Blake Acres
[0.5]   Lochie Fogarty
[0.5]   Matthew Owies
[0.5]   Nic Newman
[0.5]   Charlie Curnow
[0.5]   Tom de Koning

Explanations:
[2]   Patrick Cripps:      Crippa deserved about 10 votes with the game he played today. He broke tackles, he had 9 clearances and heaps of score involvements: between him and George Hewett, they had 21 score involvements. 5 tackles and a goal. A superb game.
[2]   George Hewett:   Not much behind Cripps, George was in everything. He had 9 clearances and 6 tackles and was strong and powerful all game.
[2]   Harry McKay:      20 possessions and 10 marks and CHF, not to mention 5 excellent goals, H destroyed his opponents.
[1.5]   Matthew Kennedy:   His best game for the year, he was strong and hard and got the ball a lot.
[1]   Jacob Weitering:   A top game in defence.
[1]   Elijah Hollands:   Ordinary early, he picked up a lot after quarter time and ended up with 22 possessions and a goal. An excellent first up effort.
[1]   Adam Cerra:      Not as prolific as he can be, but his marking and precision kicking were real highlights.
[1]   Adam Saad:      A typical Saad game, lot of run, lots of ball and his opponents looking on in awe.
[1]   Blake Acres:      More territory than anyone else, he was very strong when it was necessary. His kicking was not at its best.
[0.5]   Lochie Fogarty:   17 possessions for a negative small forward, his workrate and tackling provided others with goals.
[0.5]   Matthew Owies:   Not a huge game, but 3 goals and a lot of negative stuff.
[0.5]   Nic Newman:      Did his job and gid it well.
[0.5]   Charlie Curnow:   Not at his best, but was still lethal. Dropped a couple of sitters and could have had 6 or 7.
[0.5]   Tom de Koning:   Worked hard in the ruck and probably lowered his colours to Xerri, but when he came off, it was magical! Good around the ground.

Honourable Mentions:
Zac Williams:      Another strong game in defence.
Mitch McGovern:   Another excellent job in defence.
Oliver Hollands:   Not as prolific as he can be, but did some great stuff!

Pitto wants to play seniors, and he should, maybe as soon as next week. His strength is important.

Good to see Cincotta play so well in the midfield. He might stay there, as there isn't a lot of midfield talent in the 2's at the moment. 5 tackles and 6 clearances says he did the job.

One of Kemp or Young comes up next week to replace ... guess who? Honestly, Marchbank is so injury prone. After this he has to come back via the VFL; he looked really short of a gallop, even though he did a decent job.

I am disappointed to see O'Keefe do so little, but how was he going to displace Pitto on that performance? Still, we need a lot of work in the 2's.

Some great performances and some silly brain fade disposals. Acres had me worried in the second half. He can either be a freak and quality number one, or I just need to close my eyes when he has the ball. Not bagging him and he wasn’t the only player up and down like a yo-yo. Glad we won, and won well. I would have exploded if it ended up a goal or two result. Our list is far too good for close results against kids.

Yes, for a certain type of player.
Kemp could play on a wider variety of players and do better on some players compared to marchbank.

If your contention is true and he was brought in for a specific player, fair enough....but with no exposed match form to go by, I wouldn't have risked it.

I can't help but think there is something we don't know about with Kemp. He seems to be first one dropped and it can't be just about form.

I think you’re correct about him being the first dropped, however I’ve no idea why…

I think marchy is a better stopper than Kemp whilst Kemp is more akin to mcgovern.
