It was nice day at the footy, and a Saturday afternoon at that. The result was good, the future is looking as rosy as it does after any win.

In the first half we played as well as we have at any time this year: good, physical football with real confidence and style. After half time we lacked something, but still managed to defeat a team higher on the ladder.

Explanations:
[3] Judd: Still not 100% (or he would have run out the game better), but he really showed the reason we want him to play on. He was brilliant with his pace and his ability to make something out of nothing.
[2.5] Waite: Where has this guy been for so much of this year? Waite lead well, marked well and kicked … like Jarrod Waite. An excellent effort.
[2.5] Simpson: An excellent game where he really put his body on the line. Great run and kept his man quiet.
[1.5] Thomas: The last 2 weeks have been significant improvements for Thomas. He provided some excellent run and good decisions making in the back half, especially after Yarran went off.
[1] Bell: For 3 quarters it was probably Tom’s best game. Then he dropped out like he was shot. Pity, as his hard running was rewarded and his kicking for goals was really good.
[1] Wood: More taps this week than in the last 2 games and he managed some nice marks around the ground. Good effort.
[1] Gibbs: A real gutsy effort in the middle.
[1] Murphy: Strong effort in the middle.
[0.5] Carrazzo: Took Prestia to the cleaners.
[0.5] Curnow: Held the Sun’s running mids in check.
[0.5] Rowe: Very good in defence.
Honourable Mentions:
Jamison: Probably deserved a vote, but I snuck Rowe in instead.
White: Quiet early but worked into the game, especially after he went back to defence.
Sheehan: Almost vote worthy in his first game. He was quite impressive.
Tuohy: Solid. Kept his opponents in starvation corner.
