Carroll got 32 touches today
Billy Wilson got 24 today
Binns got 21 and a goal today
Durdin got 15 and a goal

All are younger and have performed to the same level as Fantasia (or better)

Carroll had 2 tackles in 19% TOG on Thursday and backed it up today
Fantasia had 2 tackles in 55% TOG on Thursday
But do they run the “right patterns” ?
Do they clog the oppositions midfield when we need to defend and present an option/get out of the way when attacking ?
I think there’s too much micro managing on what Orazio/Durdin don’t do (kick goals)

Goldy was “managed” when Witts didn’t get up for Gold  Coast; a decision that backfired with Moyle and Walter having the better of Bryan and Wright.

I don’t think Pittonet will come up so it will be an easy decision for the MC; De Koning and McKay vs Goldstein and Wright.

I’m looking forward to seeing the McKay twins do battle.  I hope tempers don’t fray.

McKay twins will go down in history as the only two players with parellel 10 yr+ careers who never played against each other

Goldstein not playing today against GC. A late change.

We must bring attention to detail this week vs the cheats, that and hard running. Watching their games I have noted that they aren't lazy by any stretch, they run hard, create space and continuously look for options. They are quite quick too which will be a worry for for us. They are always looking to spoil or get a hand on the footy to intercept, desperate if you like. We need to be on our toes.

While I'm at it:

[9] On field leadership: we don't appear to have much. I know we recruited Lachie Young so we'd have an experienced player, but he doesn't appear to do a lot of captainy things to me. He tried hard enough, and he get a fair amount of ball, but he isn't a great decision maker and he doesn't do the clutch things.
However, he is a superstar compared to Phillips, who cannot get a game at the moment. he has been a huge disappointment and has offered very little in the terms of leadership.
Ned Cahill can, but he doesn't get the possessions to make a difference often enough. And he misses too many goals. But he gives as much leadership as he can.
Our taller defenders have offered nothing in terms of leadership, not even winning one-on-one contests.

[10] Kicking goals: our forward footy isn't great. Our skills are ordinary and we lack body strength all over the field. However, our key goal kickers don't do enough regularly enough.
I like a lot of what Liam McMahon brings, but he doesn't complete the marks he could. he gets out bodied too easily. However, he still kicks goals as he has some idea what to do. Lemmey and Monahan offer relatively little at this point and none of them takes a big, contest mark. I don't think they are utilized that well: I'd have Monahan leading from the square and leading hard into open space, where his pace is a winner. Lemmey is a work in progress, but he has a lot of work and a lot more desire to show before he is senior ready. I quite like his ruckwork.
