I sat behind the goals at ground level so btw that and the goons in front us standing up all the time, it was to “see” the game. My comments are As follows: - we controlled the game quite well in the first half - we transitioned the ball very well in the first half. - at about the 10 min mark of the 3rd, we looked out of petrol and fatigued. The mistakes started at that point. I thought it was going to be a tough assignment but a 12 goal to 4 3rd was as bad as I have seen from us. I dont know what we do at the 1/2 time break in the rooms with food and drink but its been a while that we come out in the 3rd looking they need a sleep because their bellies are full. Not a good start to 2027
Like a lot of blues fans had a soft spot for the big fella - was a period where he strung a decent run of games in a row and was just starting to show how good it could be. Then something let him down as usual.
Body was cooked from the start unfortunately
Extremely talented, just had a body not up to the rigours of AFL at the elite level.
Brother of Peter, father of WC defender Sandy Brock. Known as "Spit Pin", he passed away on the same say as Dennis Cometti aged 75. A talented race car driver in his own right only over shadowed by his famous and supremely talented brother "PB". RIP
There is little I can say that hasn't already been said. We are the poorer from his passing.
When I think of Channel 7's present commentators, I truly hope someone like him comes again, because the ones there aren't fit for purpose.
I remember Clinton Grybas, I thought he had the makings of a legendary caller and I thought he would eventually take over the mantle from DC. Alas he is also no longer with us, taken far too soon. On radio there is no better callers than Whately and Hudson IMO. There are no more annoying callers than Taylor and Brayshaw.
That's a good effort. I think Gointocarlton did pretty well with his picks too.
I had a couple of cracks as I didnt know Evans was injured and thought Fog was. I think I got 22 out 23 the 2nd time as opposed to 20 out of 23 the first time (although not quite "as named" in position which we all know they wont line up like that). I thought Derksen was unlucky, not even an emergency. Moir was very lucky and needs to extract the digit come the real stuff. Two rucks was always obvious to me but for different reasons to Voss probably. I just reckon Pitto cant be trusted to last solo.
I have several Iranian work colleagues whom I find to be among the most beautiful humans that I have ever met, for them I am truly devastated. Whilst checking in with them offering my support, they have conveyed to me that whilst extremely painful and scary for them and their families back home, they feel like this pain is worth going through to hopefully change the lives of Iranians for ever. I dont know what else to say other than to add "courageous" to how I describe them.
You were indeed centimetre perfect, one of a kind. My favourite all timer was: "He went in optimistically and came out misty optically" in reference to a player who'd been king hit in a pack (Libba v Knights maybe). Vale DC
