Robert Heatley Stand / Carlton 2026 Finals Campaign
So we have both Seniors and Reserves playing finals this year, albeit a wildcard final but nonetheless a final. According to google, the last time this happened was 1996.
When the 1s and 2s are both humming, Ive always said that IMO, this is a key recipe item for success.

The Sports Desk / Tony Modra Fighting for Life
Tony Modra is fighting for life after his cattle truck hit a tree. Been airlifted to hospital but is not in a good way with life threatening injuries.
Thoughts and prayers are with Mods and his family.

The Sports Desk / SOO Rugbaleeg Game 2
After a sluggish start and getting back on track in the first half, the Maroons are making a mess of the Blues in the second half at the G. This is going to be a cracker finish.

Blah-Blah Bar / Large Fight MND Donation $40M
The Birt family from QLD donated $40M to Fight MND. Originally $10M, they were so impressed at the game yesterday they upped it to $40M.
God Bless these unbelievable humans.

Blah-Blah Bar / Vale Professor Richard Scolyer
Farewell to a truly amazing and inspirational Australian who made a difference on the world stage through his work in pathology and oncology. A remarkable human being who at 59 years of age had so much more to give to science and cancer treatment.
RIP Professor Scolyer, your work is done but that of your colleagues is not.

The Sports Desk / Vale Phil Brock
Brother of Peter, father of WC defender Sandy Brock. Known as "Spit Pin", he passed away on the same say as Dennis Cometti aged 75. A talented race car driver in his own right only over shadowed by his famous and supremely talented brother "PB".
RIP

The Sports Desk / Vale Dennis Cometti
You were indeed centimetre perfect, one of a kind.
My favourite all timer was:
"He went in optimistically and came out misty optically" in reference to a player who'd been king hit in a pack (Libba v Knights maybe).
Vale DC

The Sports Desk / Vale Makybe Diva
Whilst not a sportsperson, Makybe Diva stands comfortably in the Australian pantheon of sporting legends. The Melbourne Cup treble in 03 04 05 as well as the MC / Cox Plate  double in 05 are feats which will remain unequaled for the rest of time in my option. Everyone will remember those races and the words "A champion becomes a legend" will be forever etched into the minds of sports lovers everywhere.
Rest easy big girl.

The Sports Desk / Vale Allan Moffat
Allan Moffat, a giant of Australian motorsport for many decades has left this world. A ferocious competitor but a gentlemen at the same time. The battles with Brocky were legendary.
RIP AM

The Sports Desk / RIP Hulk Hogan
When I was a kid I thought this bloke was the best thing since sliced bread.
RIP Terry Bollea aka Hulk Hogan, your 24in pythons will be missed.

Blah-Blah Bar / Youth Crime in Victoria
God bless the citizens who stood up to the young thugs at Northland yesterday and performed citizens arrests. They should get bravery awards. Dip crap Jacinta Allan has brought fwd the machete ban laws (farken miracle), WTF was she waiting until Sep for?
These young dogs need to be punished to the full extent of the law, its lucky an innocent person wasnt killed.

The Sports Desk / Europa League Final
Good luck to Bluebagger Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham Hotspur in the final v Man U.
Go get it Ange.

The Sports Desk / Djokovic v TJ / Ch9
I cant believe the outrage over banter between Tony  and the Serbian/Djokovic fans. I heard a grab of what Jones said, he jokingly  called the Joker a "hasbeen" and "overrated" whilst playing with the crowd. The Serbian community has now made a racism complaint to the Australian Human Rights Commission with comments labelled racist and offensive. Is this being serious? A bit rich coming from a mob who would happily do harm to a Croatian simply because they are Coratian.
