Agreed EB but reckon we've got the workhorses needed.....Hewett etc.

We owe them one after that abysmal effort at the SCG...think it was last year.....WCE had about half a dozen of their best players out and still towelled us up.

Would love to see Motlop fire up in front of his home crowd and family.

Apart from Barass and Hurn they look pretty light on and inexperienced down back.

Other results have gone our way and with Brisbane losing to Essendon and Tigers and Saints losing.... we can move back up to 5th with a win. Then you could throw a blanket over the top 7 or 8 teams.

Agreed LP....reckon we've missed Owies a bit in the small forward pressure area and he and Durdin have worked well. Motlop stepped up last week and hit the scoreboard too. Having them allows Fisher to play a bit more up the ground a bit too. If it's wet n windy then it'll be a bit harder for McKay/Charlie so the smalls will be critical.

WCE have 3 dangerous smalls in Cripps, Rioli and Ryan.....and we know what Ryan can do in the air too.

Was at the game against the Pies and watched closely how hard Stocker worked on Ginnivan. He sprayed a few kicks but he was right on him and physically gave it to him all day. I'm not sure we have anyone else like that in our backline at the moment so I'm surprised that Boyd has continually got games ahead of him.

Agreed though, might be more to it than just form or match ups. From memory he took some time away from the game a year or two back?

I would hate to see him put his hand up and ask to be traded at the end of the year.

Baggers I had exactly the same thought about Sam Durdin possibly playing down back and allowing Young to ruck in tandem with TDK. Young has been fantastic down back and would be difficult to remove him...and Durdin played one game before being injured. Darling would be a tough match up for him.

Natanui didn't dominate last week in his first game back but he is a huge bloke and represents a big danger. Also not sure who the 3rd tall defender is that goes to Waterman. He looked dangerous early last week. Have seen him dominate in a few WAFL games this year. He's a strong mark for a bloke who's not overly tall.

Forecast wet and very windy here on Sunday so won't be a pretty game and probably nullifies the advantages we have with Charlie and Harry up forward. Agree with other comments on here.....Ryan and Rioli are the 2 that could hurt us in those conditions. If it is wet/windy, not sure Kemp will hold his spot?

For me, Weitering and Owies in for Kemp and Honey.

Saints can dare to focus on Cripps if they want. Freo did it last week and look what happened.

Not super confident given our injury list down back, but get enough ball in the middle and no chance St Kilda have the talls down back to stop McKay and Charlie. Reckon you'll see Membrey getting back every chance he can to try and intercept.

LP....I doubt Pittonet would come in at the expense of either TDK or Silvagni. Pittonet and TDK would both ruck and TDK would drift forward....and Silvagni plays as a roaming forward pushing up the ground. He'd probably take the place of Martin in that regard and I  know who I'd prefer in the 22. Earlier in the season it worked perfectly.....the first game without Pittonet was Gold Coast and we got our pants pulled down. He went down early against Freo and we lost again.

Agree with the sentiment...best win of the season. In terms of 4 quarters of footy AND given who we had out with injuries and not forgetting it was against a team that beat Melbourne and Brisbane in consecutive weeks. Voss clearly doesn't like dwelling on who isn't out there, but it's hard as a fan not to think "what might be" if we could get the likes of Weitering, McGovern, Marchbank, Pittonet, Williams, Cerra, Martin, Owies etc back fit and firing.

Lewis Young is shaping up as a real find and no doubt the last 3 or so weeks out there without Weitering will probably prove to be a huge boost for his confidence in knowing he can mix it with the good forwards and spoil and compete.

The midfield was back to its best, our defence held strong and we got 6 goals from Harry/Charlie.

For me, the biggest thing to take out of that win is the performances of our blokes who play a role....Newnes, Cottrell, Fisher, O'Brien etc. If I'm correct, 5 of our 12 goals came from Newnes, Cottrell and O'Brien? At the start of the season, the majority of us wouldn't have had any of them in our best 22. And yet a bloke like Cottrell has probably cemented his spot in the 22 and O'Brien is probably the same? They seem to be able to do the little things and play their part.

No doubt a lot of this comes back to Voss as the coach. He looks to have instilled something in the players we haven't seen before. They love the contest, they love getting in there and scrapping. He was a brutal competitor and 14 games into the season, it's starting to show I reckon. As someone else commented, Silvagni is right in the opposition's face every chance he gets. But he backs up the verbal jousting with a fierce competitiveness....he doesn't back down....don't tell me Voss wouldn't just love that.

Injuries might cruel any chance of going deep into the finals....who knows. But I see a playing list that's capable of winning one within the next couple of years:

1. Quality backline with the likes of Weitering, Docherty and Saad.
2. Quality midfield with Cripps, Walsh, Kennedy, Cerra, Hewett.
3. TDK developing very quickly and his ability to go forward with his skillset...he can become a real weapon.
4. Elite tall forwards with Harry and Charlie...and a bevy of small forward options who can apply the pressure...Owies, Durdin, Motlop, Honey and Fisher (who gets up the ground and uses his pace too).

Play like that against St Kilda and we should account for them
