Title: VFL Rd 2 2022 Carlton vs Box Hill Hawks
Post by: crashlander on April 01, 2022, 07:42:57 pm
This game is at Box Hill at 1505 on Sunday, so it overlaps the senior game at the MCG.
In theory the side should be stronger this week.

Nothing yet.
However, we should have Stocker playing. Fogarty too.

Close game has become a big win. 46 points on a dominant midfield. Some familiar?

One dominant q, like our AFL. Only it was in the 4th. Very convincing win.
2 - 0

Paddy Dow: 30 possessions, 5 tackles, 2 goals and 15 clearances! He wants to play senior footy.
Will Hayes: 34 Possessions.
Jesse Motlop: 19 possessions and 4 goals.
Alex Mirkov: 46 taps, 3 clearances, 7 possessions. What a difference a dominant ruckman makes!

Bit more strength and Paddy can still rip the AFL apart - Chris Judd style.

Decision making improved second half - he is improving.

Fantastic that our ones and twos haven't dropped a game, good signs.

Thought Mirkov was impressive, good nous and composure.
I like Paddy Dow but still needs to show me he is more composed with the ball and doesn't make easy turnovers.
Motlop could probably play senior footy and reminds me of Kossie Pickett but I'd be keeping him on ice till the second half of the season...
Like too see Mirkov get some senior footy as well when we have a vacancy for a ruckman.

Reckon we should give Motlop a run ... perhaps against North.  But I'd like to see what he's got @ElwoodBlues1

Shows signs :)

I lost the feed but, from what I saw, Paddy Dow is a class above VFL, Mirkov deserves his contract extension and will be a great ruckman in the future, Kemp is another who is too good for VFL, Motlop will debut before much longer, Stocker will be back in the ones, and Glass-McCasker probably deserves another tilt at AFL.
