I can only wonder how the umpire last week failed to award Harry a free kick for holding the man just before Coniglio’s dissent. Hollands took possession of the ball between wing and HFF and Simpkin almost immediately tackled him. The tackle knocked the ball out of Hollands’ possession and the umpire pinged Simpkin for continuing the tackle. The interesting thing is that the commentators were stunned that Zurhaar wasn’t given a free kick for arm over the shoulder. But they didn’t bother to note that the umpire told Zurhaar that he had rolled the arm over his shoulder. Whether that was right or not, the commentators should have noted that their assumption that the umpire missed it was not correct.
