Interesting to see who plays.

Except Dow!

Except Dow!
When you are getting frustrated at our turnovers due to poor ball use, Dow is not going to be the solution!

Last night we need a strong pacey Mid who tackles with intent, the Lions stitched us up with two of their main stoppage / link players out injured. It's a tell!

Watched about the first five minutes....I'm guessing it must be pretty wet down there today.
The disposal is even worse than last night.

All our listed players are getting involved.
Cottrell has our only goal.
Reid looks impressive...shame he'll be playing elsewhere.

Same dumb forward entries.

The BrisVegas Magoos have that same hardness at the man and aggott that the seniors do. Us? We just look like we're trying to finesse and almost avoid the hard stuff... except for Fogarty, Cotters, Cowan and Boyd.

They're actually playing a similar style to their seniors last night. We're struggling to get it out of defence down the line.

Sometimes the kick off the ground is the most effective in these conditions.
Unless you're Reid...the kid is clean.

Scores are level.
Owies has had a couple of shots for points only

...and another point to Owies

Whoever selects Reid in the draft should be very happy they got him.

Much better from us in the second qtr. Much more desperation and smarts re playing wet weather footy.

Looks like Fisher has been told to 'get and give' rather than contemplating his navel with aggott in hand.

Matty Cottrell, as Principal LODS said, barring injury... 'see you next Saturday against the Dishlickers, Matty.'

Liked Owies game thus far, along with Fogarty and Binns.

Rapt to see the improvement in Dominic A's game.

Rapt to see the improvement in Dominic A's game.

I was going to comment on that.
It's still well off, but it's easily the best I've seen him play.
He looks a bit more assertive and confident going for the ball.
There were a couple of repeat tackle efforts a while back that were really good efforts.

For me it's Owie's (has 1-4 it could easily have been 4-1) and Cottrell in for Motlop (give him a game at the lower level) and Honey.

3/4 time Brisbane by 4 points.
Rain is coming again...we seemed to go better when it was pouring.

Owies into the senior side next week.
Cottrell drifted out of the game but I'd still give him a senior run.
Fisher 28 disposals...was OK

It may be a choice between Fisher and Cottrell for Honey.

Fisher got plenty but still burnt a lot of it, getting it is not good enough if you waste too much!

Reid is a special player, reminds me a young Docherty.

Owies wasted some shots a bit early on, which probably cost us in the end, but along with Cottrell they are at a higher level.

I'd be inclined to give Fish a couple  more weeks out and try other options.

Is Cuningham playing yet? Did he play?

I'd bring in Owies for Honey.
and Cottrell for Cincotta

No Cuningham, and unfortunately we have a bye next week so it'll be a coupla weeks before we see the return of a few to the VFL.

If you're going to replace blokes it's generally a good idea to go for 'like for like.'

Owies for Honey, yes.

Cottrell for ?? (give Dutchy a rest?).

I'm one who holds out hope for players as much as anyone else, but we are at round 10 of 2023.  Marchbank, cunners and Martin have barely been sighted this season.  Not sure how many years we can talk about them coming back before we start to put lines through these players and move on.  You can make that case for Williams next season.

Boyd's an interesting one.
He's a pretty good kick.
Took most of the kickouts today.
He also has a bit of mongrel about him as well.
Could be a good small defender option.

One concern is perhaps his discipline
He plays a bit angry.
Saw him remonstrating with a team-mate when he thought he should have got the ball.

They must still be playing.
Fisher has had another four disposals and is now up to 32 ;D

We need to find someone who can does this reliably in the ones pronto. Im not a fan of rotating this duty around. I would like to see the bloke doing everytime like a qtr back. If that's his only job, so be it but he needs to be elite at it.
