Sri Lanka coached by Dav Whatmore made this bowling action legal, now they want it banned, are they racist?

With chucking back on the agenda looks like Bumrah's action is getting some attention again, hyperextension or flexion, its all about angles but I cant see Bumrah being investigated given his importance to cricket and who he plays for.
The Indian public and cricket board would go into meltdown if he was investigated and found to be chucking, much easier to go hard on a no name like Kuhnemann.

Kuhnemann’s action has been cleared by the ICC and he’s free to play again.

Was it a political complaint, a case of sour grape?

If it had been India lodging the complaint, would he have been banned?

Kuhnemann’s action was reported by umpires Joel Wilson (Trinidad and Tobago) and Adrian Holdstock (South Africa).  Third (TV) umpire Chris Gaffaney (New Zealand) and reserve umpire Prageeth Rambukwella (Sri Lanka) would also have been involved in the decision to report Kuhnemann.

Yes that's the official investigation process, they deemed it worthy of further investigation.

Kuhnemann should be happy, having it officially reviewed kills the debate, if they had instead reported "nothing to see here" the conspiracy and rumour would persist.

But that official investigation was kicked off after a complaint from Sri Lanka, players, coaches or management we do not know who, and that was the hypocrisy on display. There was of course that bit of argy bargy between the squads around that time, I may well be wrong but I'd assert it's not a coincidence.

I should have mentioned that Jeff Crowe (New Zealand), as the match referee, may have played a part too.

What's interesting is that the officials for the First Test were umpires, Adrian Holdstock and Chris Gaffaney, third (TV) umpire, Joel Wilson, and reserve umpire, Lyndon Hannibal (Sri Lanka).   The only change is Prageeth Rambukwella for Lyndon Hannibal so it may be that Rambukwella saw something different in Kuhnemann’s action.  There is a rumour that some Sri Lankan batsmen complained to the umpires but, even if they did, the umpires do not have to act unless they feel that there is an issue.  Bitching from batsmen or team officials doesn't trigger a report.

The match officials' report kicked off the ICC investigation and that takes place at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane.  The investigation found that all of Kuhnemann’s deliveries are legal but, as is usually the case, the ICC's report isn't made public  and that leaves a lingering doubt about Kuhnemann’s action.

The secrecy around the testing and the results is unnecessary and more of an issue than Kuhnemann’s action.
