Jim Park Voting 2022 AFL Rd 23 Carlton vs Collingwood

Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos:
[1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Sam Walsh or Patrick Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

Hopefully we'll have guys to vote for.  :))

Hopefully we have some people who want to vote!
Live Long and Prosper!

I'm sorry to left this one open as long as it has been, but for a while I simply couldn't face it. To be so near, yet so far, hurt. Hopefully, we can learn from this and make sure we make every step a winner next year.

Rating:      B
I don’t usually rate this high when we have a loss, not just because we lose, but because there had to be a reason why we lost. We were ordinary in the first half, but our 3rd quarter was the best football played by anyone this year. We murdered Collingwood. There is no other way to describe it. And then, we weren’t that bad in the last quarter.
   Never mind.

Votes:
[3]   Patrick Cripps
[2]   Adam Cerra
[2]   Sam Docherty
[1]   Lewis Young
[1]   Adam Saad
[1]   Will Setterfield
[1]   Charlie Curnow
[1]   Harry McKay
[1]   Jacob Weitering
[0.5]   Zac Williams
[0.5]   Mitch McGovern
[0.5]   Jesse Motlop
[0.5]   Matthew Cottrell

Explanations:
[3]   Patrick Cripps:      Cripps really led from the front. He was brilliant, everything considered.
[2]   Adam Cerra:      Cerra’s best game for Carlton so far. When we really needed something, he lifted fantastically. Brilliant job.
[2]   Sam Docherty:   Not so great early, but he stepped up. A pity his last couple of kicks were so ordinary. Had he kicked centrally, instead of out-on-the-full, it could have been enough.
[1]   Lewis Young:   A tremendous job in defence, especially when we were under pressure early.
[1]   Adam Saad:   Not his greatest game, in fact, he started pretty poorly, but he kept going and things eventually went his way.
[1]   Will Setterfield:   One of Setters’ best games; he managed to get a lot of ball and usually did something with it.
[1]   Charlie Curnow:   Could have been three votes, he dominated his opponents totally. But his kicking and de3cision making! Charlie could have won the game by himself.
[1]   Harry McKay:   Much the same for H. He dominated in the air and had 10 marks as a key forward. Some people gave votes to his opponent, Moore, but that isn’t reasonable. When it came to a contest, H won them.
[1]   Jacob Weitering:   Not his greatest game, but solid and impenetrable.
[0.5]   Zac Williams:      Really lifted when it was necessary. Good signs for the future for what I thought was a risky selection.
[0.5]   Mitch McGovern:   Beat his opponents almost all day.
[0.5]   Jesse Motlop:      Not enough, not for 4 quarters, but when we needed magic, he delivered.
[0.5]   Matthew Cottrell:   Solid.

Honourable Mentions:
Marc Pittonet:      We found out later that Pitto wasn’t close to 100% fit when he returned late in the season. He was in hospital before you could blink after the game. That put a very different view on his effort in the ruck. He struggled his guts out, and did managed 5 clearances on his own.
Lochie O’Brien:   A solid contributor.
Jack Martin:   Martin was very good early, but he drifted out of the game as many of his teammates drifted in.
Caleb Marchbank:   Marchbank was really good early, when we were under pressure. His marking was excellent. However, he drifted out of the game.
