Negatives: - Skill level, bad decision making and crap kicking for goal . Keeps costing us games but we never learn.
Overall, one shocking quarter and embarrassingly bad kicking for goal lost us the game, but lapses in games are to be expected when fielding such a young team with 9 of our players 21 and under.
I've seen enough from the kids coming through to be convinced that when it clicks, we're going to be awesome!!
Loving that Bolts isn't afraid to play the kids, and so far, they all look like they belong at senior level. This has to be one of the youngest Carlton teams ever fielded at AFL senior level. About half the side is 22 and under. Such a refreshing approach, and one we ve never experienced before, as the last time we tried to 'rebuild and had a plethora of early picks, we had the two clowns Pagan and Hughes in charge and were pissing picks away on duds like Russell, Bower, Hampson, Grigg, Hartlett etc.
We're in desperate need of a decent key forward. Should we perhaps take a chance and blood yet another youngster in Harry McKay in the dry conditions under the roof at Etihad ?
We had SEVEN players in the side 20 years old and younger. Surely one of the youngest ever Carlton sides ever. Despite that, we still showed the heart and desire required to overpower the more fancied Drug Cheats. I think the crop of kids coming through right now are the best the Club has had in many many years.
I don't care how incredulous the statement sounds, I honestly believe our club would be better ditching all senior let's say 25+ players (except maybe Murphy, Gibbs, Simmo and Kreuzer and we should be replacing those guys also as soon as possible).
Agree 100% with this. Am happy to put up with mistakes from kids who are inexperienced and are still learning the caper. The same old senior duds making the same old costly mistakes year in year out though ?.. Cmon!!! Enough is enough with that.
Today's children have never seen Carlton as a contender and have seen us win multiple spoons. Remember the pathetic clubs like StKilda and the Brisbane Bears when we were kids? What SOS, Bolts, MLG and Trigg have basically had to do is wipe out everything on and off the field pre end of 2015 and basically build a new Club.

Green shoots: - Kreuz looked great - Picket and SPS look like they ll give the side the zip it needs. They ve got bags oif tricks and pace to burn, and the tackling, WOW! - Marchbank, Macredie and Plowman will be the cornerstone of our backline for the next 10 years - Weiters up forward worked - Young SOS impressed and could ve ended up with 4
Weeds: - Until such time as this side moves past Thomas, White, Casboult and Sam Rowe,, we will never be a decent outfit. They are all dead set liabilities. I mean, if people are happy for Rowe and White to gift wrap the opposition 4-5 goals every week just because they 'try', then we really are up poo creek. - Murphy and Gibbs will never be what we want them to be. They're 'cherry on top' midfielders, not the hardworking, down and dirty types they need to be. - Skills still terrible. Cant remember the last time we were a decent side skills wise.
I don't think a lot of the backlash is purely just because Clinton didn't win. With every stupid/arrogant/disrespectful new action of Dump's (and he seems to be doing, saying or tweeting something dumb daily), and every new flagrant lie of Spicer's and Conway's to the media, they just keep adding fuel to the fire. I mean you couldn't be making the stuff up the things they re doing and saying over there right now... The country is in chaos.

What a great night for our Club, Women's Footy, and Women's Sport in general. After ripping it up on the big stage on Friday night, life will never be the same again for players like Darcy Vee, Bri Davey etc.
For years, the AFL and the media in general had Princes Park down as an eyesore from a bygone era that nobody cares about or wants to go to anymore. The game against he Drug Cheats last year, and the 24,500 on Friday night, says otherwise. We may just have turned it into the 'go to' venue for expected big crowds in the AFLW.
My 6 y.o. daughter watched the 1st qtr before going to bed. She was rapt that girls were actually playing footy, after years of seeing me watching only the guys playing. Told her we'd won on Saturday morning and she asked to watch the highlights, which I jumped online and showed her (how times have changed). The Blues AFLW team has come along just at the right time. Reckon there's a whole new young female Navy Blue fan base after Friday night.
I'm hoping for a huge crowd at next weeks game. I'll be there with my two kiddos that's for sure!!.
Id give him an extra year to see if he makes it, simply because talented big guys don't grow on trees and we haven't got many at the club at the moment apart from the skinny kids.
