Not what we wanted 3 quick ones to the Crows, we can't hit targets, letting them in

We look awful.
No run and leaving holes everywhere in the zone. Crows just walking through it far too easily

Playing as you would expect from a bunch of blokes that have had a horrible year, are mentally and spiritually shot, and can't wait for the season to end.

No real surprises to be honest.

Can we just piss this zone defence crap off,  it's a waste of time.

Gees it would be nice to play a game that wasn't over half way through the first quarter.

If we drop off like we have been lately we’re going to get smashed tonight. Already struggling to apply defensive pressure and kick straight. And running out 4 quarters hasn’t been our forte this year.

Nope
This is a game where they should go flat out.
No worries about securing a draft position.
The opposition is a team that has nothing to play for.
This should be be a game where they set themselves up for 2019.
Very disappointing so far.
I expected much better.

And it isn't as if they're close misses, we're missing by two or three metres.

I think maybe some have underestimated how much of a toll this seasons has taken - lots of kids, lots of injuries, lots of hacks..............

We are in the very early stages of a long journey.

There's still ability out there today. We are definitely better than a 2 win side. And we plan on keeping this bloke next year? All this young ability led by a crap coach. Seems such  waste.

Just off the plane from Berlin see this $hit. Seriously!

Interesting game so far, we've entered F50 as much as the Crows but we hit Crows defenders more than we hit Carlton forwards!

How tough is it to be a young Carlton defender, Weitering's been dudded twice tonight so far, beginners bad luck!

I'd think Rowe is either done or carry an injury, interesting to see what happens with him after a relatively quick return from a knee!

Yep,  umpires aren't helping,  only seem to pay frees one-way.

Real problem are the passengers.  Murphy,  Lang,  Polson,  Byrne,  Mullet,  Ed, SPS playing?
And on the rare occasions we get it, we're going at 44 percent.   That's not even VFL standard.

It’s not the speed it’s the endeavour.
As you note - unwilling to run and resort to watching in hope of a turnover

Yes, fans will slander our defenders, but the problem is caused by the players further up the field.

Note the I50s remain roughly level, but the Crows seem to have extras everywhere!

Blokes like Simmo, Rowe and Murphy pick out opponents tonight time and time again! Simmo's stats a deceptive, twice he has charged down the ground, had all our players pushing forward to provide options, and Simmo's picked out an opponent for a turnover goal. Rowe's guilty as well, Murph looks like he's planning his holidays, it's his worst game for the season!

We cannot go into 2019 with the same game plan.
Our zone does not work.
Kicking back across the ground, does not work and just leaves us outnumbered up the ground.
Kicking long down the boundary line in hope to contests, does not work.
Our positions at stoppages, do not work.
And although not a part of the game plan, lazy running does not work.

Harry's been pretty much fighting a lone battle though. The Crows win the ball time after time in their D50 and can pretty much raffle  it  unchallenged exiting and setting up their forward move. Too easy! Our F50 entry/Goal ratio is atrocious.

Harry has shown something, Charlie been well held by Otten who is a spud.......nice goal from the work experience kid after a tackle and Kerridge nailed a good goal after
a dumb turnover that he made before.

Cant believe how many think we can afford to pass on a kid like Walsh and use pick 1 for a later first rounder and McGovern.

If we do any trade out pick 1 and don’t get shiel we are a laughing stock.

We need move heaven and earth to get 2-3 genuine quality mids in.

Don’t need McGovern.

Rowe's hip hit the back of his head in a marking contest. Think his face hit the player in front too
Sounds like he s done for the day. He was solid today

Yet during play they have nothing but criticism of our play

Well when we only have 2 forwards to kick to and we are continually getting the ball forward to nothing but crows jumpers....there isn't much very positive to say.

For someone billed as being a great kick O'Brien really is butchering it tonight at every opportunity

Byrne does kick the ball well and the game opens up when his risky kicks come off.

Staggered we didn't give Schumacher a run.   We know what we're going to get from Mullet, JSOS, Lang,  SPS... f all.

If the Crows are a midpack team then we are 5 years away...do they miss a target or a goal?

Kicked a goal.
Got an intercept and hit McKay up inside 50 for another goal.

Yet people are complaining about Simmo.  ::)

Some of our stuff is kid related, I reckon we've created as many turnovers as the Crows if not more than them but we score far less, because our disposal from the turnover or intercept we create goes to a Crow more often than it goes to a Blue!

We discussed this early in the season and it has not changed, we are the worst ball users in the AFL by some margin, both in our choice of targets and in the execution!

At the game so can anyone tell me more about Charlie’s knee

All we need is that to be an acl.

What does that say, we get the initial kick out of the centre, but lack of forward skill & conversion & it comes back and they score, & Repeat. This is going to a very ugly last qtr

The early rumor is a medial strain from a knock to the outside of his knee.

It's not the lack of skill inside F50, it's the lack of support from our mids and running players who leave our KPPs outnumbered at both ends of the ground! ;)

If the GPS doesn't lie, and we cover more ground than the opposition, then it is minding grass because we are nowhere near the contest! ;)

Well done Cam Polson tonight. 15 pos, 7 tackles, 2 goals and a fair bit of egg on the faces of the astute football judges on this site who pad their own ego by predicting the demise of 20 year old players.

Shocking game but at least he and Harry were significant positives.
