So Collingwood has 2 captains for 2021.
- One of them is/was a Carlton girl who used to frequent these very forums prior to the AFLW.
- The other was a former captain of our AFLW when we made the grand final.

This makes me angry.

I'm not angry, but I am disappointed. With Stef, fair enough; Collingwood drafted her and we didn't. Davey: I am very disappointed in her and what she did. She'll miss out as we head towards the finals.

Not a bad draw, it's now up to the girls to get it done, set the record straight!

No conferences in 2021, just 1 ladder.
Finals will be 3 weeks, with 6 teams.

First week
Teams 1+2 bye
3 vs 6
4 vs 5

2nd week
2 vs highest ranked winner
1 vs lowest ranked winner

3rd week
Grand final

Not a bad draw???

Thats pretty tough.

The 2 teams who finished last in their conference....we don't play.
From the other 7 teams who made finals last year, we play all but 2 (Brisbane and GWS)
....and that doesn't include Adelaide and the dominant Erin Phillips who finished 6th.

We topped our conference, it could be a lot worse.

My only gripe is why we keep playing the Crows in Adelaide.

If we play as well as we did last season, it won’t really matter who we play or where we play.

I think that we’ll miss Chloe Dalton but our list depth and strength has improved, and more than other clubs.

Bring it on and go Blues!

“Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don’t you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?”  Oddball

I agree. The teams we miss are 4 guaranteed wins. As for playing the Cows in Adelaide ...

That's a bit arrogant.

AFLW is much more dynamic than AFL, and injuries or trades to just one key player has far more influence than AFL, and it's not always the marquee player, you cannot assume teams won't drastically improve or drastically deteriorate in one pre-season.

No we didn't.
We finished 3rd in our conference. Won week 1 and week 2, so we were top 4 at best.

You are the one who said it won't matter who we play or where we play....and then you call that arrogant?
Pot Kettle.

Crash is right, which was my point. The easybeat teams are the ones we don't play.

I'm still confident we will make and play finals. But that draw could cost us a 1st round bye.

Hmm, except I never wrote it, and I never said it either.

I made a pretty simple points, written above, not a spoken word, breathless whisper, telepathy or telekinesis, but somewhat summarised simply that it's wrong to assume last season's weak teams will be next season's weak teams, and that no win is guaranteed.

If anyone thinks a win is guaranteed that is clearly an arrogance, it's tortoise and hare territory!

This we can debate, because it's actually written here in the thread!

Sorry we finished 2nd in Conference B in 2020, on 20 pts behind Freo on 24 pts at the cancellation, in 2019 we topped Conference B on 16pts.
