Robert Heatley Stand / Re: VFL Rd 9: Northern Blues vs Werribee on TV
Real pity about Flip. Was dominant in the ruck and around the ground. Hope it's not a long term injury.

I agree, (strangely  ;)), with the club's nominated best, especially in terms of White and Palmer. White lacked support down back but still did a terrific job, considering. I thought Palmer was the most effective mid-fielder though his disposal stats wouldn't be as numerous as Kerridge and Graham, who were also good for the most part.

Agree that it was O'Shea's best outing for us thus far. And Pickett is not far off 'clicking', provided he keeps up the work/intensity. Hate to say it but I thought Russell (8) was a real liability and hopefully will be replaced.

Casey wasn't quite as clean as his first game back but will be better for the run.

We are, I'm only trying to inject a dose of reality into the discussion.
Most of us fully realise that a key forward is an urgent priority and in the absence of one we indulge in wishful thinking about Levi, it's understandable but it won't win finals.

There you go... Exactly. Bottom line is we are witnessing the best that Meat can deliver. He tried hard yesterday and did some good things, but, well... back going in circles again...

No rucks after half time made it tough but we looked undersized and were out muscled in the end...

Buckley...couple of dashes from half back and had some good long kicks on the run but doesnt grab me as the small defender we need.....too light and not strong enough IMO.
MacReadie...battled on but was well beaten by another thin tall kid called Larkey.
White....tackled well but a few dumb moments in the game reminded me of how ordinary he can be, will probably get a week for contacting the umpire accidentally after giving away a 50m penalty....
Polson. ordinary early but tagged Swallow after half time and did better..
Armfield....Denis is done and dusted, might get the charity last senior game.
JGM...got hurt but was getting beat up by Daw anyway...not big or smart enough vs good players..
Philips...BOG till he got hurt, beat Pruess and Daw in the ruck and was doing well around the ground..
Pickett...couple of goals but doesnt do enough.
Lebois...still finding his way...
Palmer....went ok without being brilliant, when he gets it he usually does something with it but not enough to warrant senior footy.
Kerridge...probably our best player in the end, worked hard and presented well especially in the air where he took some good marks...
Kerr...not sighted early but had to share ruck duties with Jaksch vs Preuess/Daw and found some footy around the ground..looked a bit heavy and slow.
Jacksh...kicked a couple of goals and worked down both ends but didnt excite me too much..did some ruck work and actually wasnt too bad but he wont be playing senior footy anytime soon and looks gone. Not intense enough and doesnt seem to have much care factor...
HarryMac...looks good when he gets the footy and makes it look easy but doesnt do enough at times...marking is good but kicking needs work...lazy approach and a bit .
careless at times...
Gorringe...injured early but wasnt much chop anyway...playing very bruise free footy...
Graham....along with Kerridge probably our best but I remain unconvinced about him at senior level......tackled well, got plenty of ball, couple of goals and we all know he can play well at this level but he doesnt hurt teams with his field kicking enough and his lack of pace makes his disposal more of an issue.

Nice summary, EB1. We lost our way without Phillips but it did get Kerr into the game! Those lapses in concentration were really costly.

But that's the whole point.
We know what we have with Trump.
He won't change.
Is the best way to deal with him to fight the battle at his level?
It might make folk feel good, but they'll be fighting on his turf.

"I learned long ago, never to wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it." - George Bernard Shaw

He'll come unstuck by himself eventually...and watch his Republican support dry up.
It's only there as a thin veneer.

So true. Good stuff. You do, however, need to keep him under pressure. Narcissists can't handle accountability/being exposed/wrong/not getting their own way. Stand at his pen with a powerful water hose and give him a burst from time to time.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Round 12 Green Shhot of the Week
Warms the cockles to see wraps for LJ. Glad others are now seeing what he's been bringing at seconds level for a good many weeks. Now he has to not only continue to bring this but improve upon it which I reckon he will as he becomes more confident. Great effort from LJ and the rest of the boys down back especially after losing ASOS early but still restricting Patton and Cameron to 3 goals only. Bravo.

Green shoot would have to be Cuningham, though he still frustrates the cr@p out of me with vanishing acts - though, to be fair they were fewer yesterday. For mine, his ability to get the ball out to advantage when the heat is hitting him, is a feature. He's a very intuitive footballer.
