Murphy was a long way from dominant.

Carroll was the big news out of today though. Back to his preseason form.

I thought LOB was ok. Use of the ball is a clear level above others. If I had to promote either him or Cotterel out of today's match I would go with LOB.

Maybe his future is a Daniel Rich type. Being fed by his teammates coming off half back with his good ball use.

My comments were about the club's perceptions of him, rather than mine. He just can't seem to crack a game, no matter what the circumstances.

Carroll was good but I felt when Crocker touched the ball we looked like scoring and apart from his goals he also created a few for others as well. Not sure what the fascination with Boyd was in the mid deason draft?

I was obviously a big wrap for Crocker....things happen with him. Would've been my pick instead of Boyd thats for sure.

Having said that, Boyds kicking skills are the reason why he was picked up....and thats something we also need.

Crocker looks AFL ready.
Boyd 'could' be AFL ready. He could be one of those players that plays better in the 1's than the 2's. I'd make sure we give him a go before the end of the year.

Missed a few targets I thought and his kicking isnt at the same level as Rich, plus can we carry another defender who doesnt play any defense on his man. We already have Saad, Williams and Docherty wanting that Houli/Baker rebound type role.
Reckon like the Tigers you can get away with two of those types only....

Agree.....Crocker would make us better and more dangerous up forward, its not just about his marking or smarts either he isnt slow  and motored away from an opponent today and gave Honey a cheapie goal.
I'm not down on Boyd and he has some qualities we need but Crocker could walk in and impact while I think Boyd is that type of player who would be a handy player in a good team.

Brodie Kemp - quieter game than last but another step forward
Jordan Boyd - not the messiah but showed he has tools that might hold him in good stead
Matt Cottrell  - honest but limited
Lochie O'Brien - doesn't enthuse me
Josh Honey - doesn't do a lot but does impactful things - trial him in the 1s
Corey Durdin - working into it
Levi Casboult - best he has moved all year - or was that just the slower pace of 2s football?  If body working he should be backing up TDK in the 1s and Pittonet should be in the 2s
Marc Murphy - doesn't seem to have the mobility or the urgency to justify getting back to the 1s
Alex Mirkov - hopefully not a bad knee - feel for the kid
Sam Petrevski-Seton - did some nice things, did some slack things, good last qtr
Jack Carroll - our best I thought and hope he gets a run before seasons end but probably not yet
Tom Williamson - solid but should be doing more

The chances of him being here next year are just about zero. Another one bites the dust. Our churn rate for 1st rounders must be in the record breaking category.

Thought Murphy was average......same with SPS......Levi, Crocker and Carroll were our best IMHO.

Murphy didn't do anywhere near enough but he did much more than Jack Martin has been doing in the seniors.
SPS started off less than average but he showed more effort and intensity in the final quarter than he has since he cut off his rat's tail - probably too much to hope that he plays a full game with that endeavour.
Levi was the one who showed the effort to demand consideration for senior selection next week.
Carroll showed lots of poise and skill but he also showed something that too many of our midfielders display - a lack of willingness to seriously chase an opponent - happened a couple of times - hope its not a habit
I am less impressed with Crocker and am not disappointed that we didn't pick him up - he has good hands and can take a clean mark if the ball is well delivered but that doesn't happen often enough with our senior team - just a good VFL player from my perspective

The news wasn’t as good for Markov, with the ruckman finishing the game with ice on his knee after going down with the injury in the opening term.
You must go to the same optometrist as Razor Ray.  ;)
