Blah-Blah Bar / Re: Russian Ukraine War
EB I'm not sure what Putin will finally settle for but it will certainly include the whole of the Donbas and most of the other areas the Russians have now occupied. Whether he will go for control of the whole of the Black Sea coastal regions including Odessa and into Transnistria is not yet clear. If so, he is probably going to wait out the Autumn rains until the ground freezes into Winter when the heavy equipment can move around more easily.

Referenda are planned over the next few days to incorporate the mostly Russian speaking areas of the Donbas and around Herson etc into the Russian Federation. This will fundamentally change the picture. I  understand that the Russian troops being mobilised now are mainly ex military who will serve in Russia itself, freeing the regular army to be deployed in Ukraine.
Blah-Blah Bar / Re: The classic/fave car thread
I used to watch a car show hosted by a mechanic on YouTube.  He hated Beemers and reckoned that they had a lot of cheap plasticy components that only lasted a few years and then cost a fortune to replace. Lesson, don't buy one second hand older than a couple years, especially with high Ks and less than perfect service record.

I recently took my Lexus for service to a local Toyota dealer since the nearest Lexus dealer is quite  long way from my new place.
Very disappointed by their attitude considering the vehicle uses mainly Toyota parts and components . They treated it as if it was a completely different brand and I have to say weren't giving me good vibes. Don't think I will be returning there.

You're right EB. I am now living in Yarra Valley and still driving the old IS300. The nearest Lexus dealer is in Blackburn so I would no doubt be even worse off with an MG. I'm seriously thinking of finding an independent service outfit.
The old cars were indeed fun but as I got older I needed more comfort and mod cons!

I've owned 2 MGs, of the classic variety, in my life EB. Not sure I'm quite ready to buy a Chinese one yet. I had a brief look at one on display in a shopping mall and it looked ok, but if they are anything like the GW suv I drove a few years back then no thanks.
Robert Heatley Stand / Re: VFL Finals Week 2: Carlton vs Brisbane
A lot of inconsistencies in our list management, Im no real advocate of Setterfield but I was shocked to hear he has to wait till the end of the trade period for word on a new deal which really means he would be silly to knock back any offer from another club because there are no guarantees with us. Yet we sign Honey, promise the ageing Ed Curnow a deal and it was Setterfield who played his best games late in the season...fattening him up for trade?...maybe but lets get realistic he will be at the cheap end of the trade scale.

Understand that EB but if we knew who we may be likely to bring in these events may make a lot more sense?
