Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Rnd 6 Carlton v Brisbane-post mortem
Wood was ordinary, Casboult did a good job on the ball and up forward, which is a tough gig.
We won the clearances again though. We win that every week, won the contested possession, 1%'ers again. Although good but totally amounts to nothing when when you badly structured and have no run.
I have been saying this about the Warnock situation for the last five years, players who are traffic cones combined with an outdated game plan are worthless in 2015. Yet already some fans want Warnock back next week, they can't see the forest for the trees! Do they wonder why Martin was the Lions top rated player, because those stats he gathers count more than taps which from an effectiveness perspective he lost! But he gets 19 disposals and 5 marks, if we combined Wood and Casboult they just break even with him!
Better to lose the clearances and win everywhere else, Kreuzer and Hampson were our number 1 ruck combo for 1 very good reason, mobility. Kreuzer and Hampson use to rove to each other inside F50, both kicked goals roving to the others ruck work. We didn't need marking or goal kicking from rucks just getting a contest was enough. So we took a great ruck division and de-constructed it because they were NBG as KPFs, hunging onto and recruiting a bunch of dud forwards by weakening our ruck division.
And people seriously think Warnock is a solution with Casboult rucking, really?
The sad thing is three or four years ago we were winning clearances and competitive(admittedly inconsistently) everywhere else.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 7 : Blues V Giants (Pre-Match Pre-Amble)
INS : Jamison, Carrazzo, Warnock, Ellard, Kreuzer, Tutt, Simpson, Barker
OUTS : Buckley, Boekhorst, Whiley, Smith, Graham, Wood, Jaksch, Malthouse
If Ellard and Warnock come in we are going nowhere, they have been weighed, measured and found wanting!
The feel good selections should have died today!
We've been the good citizens of the AFL for too long now, EFC have showed us the way, cheats, spuds and duds but 70K members!

We have the dumbest MC / Coaching panel in the AFL, blind Freddy could have seen this coming!
Supporters should excuse one or two bad decisions or or two wrong turns, but not excuse things when the majority are bad!
From the outside it looks like we want a nice club, a friendly club, a club full of buddies, but a winning club doesn't necessarily coincide with those desires!

Sam Cattapan's father just put a clip up on FB and showed that it is bucketing down at Frankston.
I asked him for a score, he wrote :
"Blues up by 3 goals 3/4 time. Into wind last quarter"
You mean the development team?

Has anyone actually seen any conformation of Simpson out for Smith?
The only place i've seen that was from a post from the sheik.
It's on the club website as part of the final team list.

As expected, the lineup will be just a tad different to what was listed on Thursday. 2 ruckmen in the team will be very unusual. I hope that works down in the mud at Frankston.
The Frankston ground was in immaculate condition when I watched a team play there a couple of weeks ago, no mud to be found!

I want our boys to believe.
I want them to believe that they could be good enough.
I want them to believe that they will go out there and actually compete hard.
I want them to believe that they can win.
I want them to believe, that they could conceivably go out there and win the rest of their games, and win a forking flag.
It's 21 vs 21 with a sub each. A bit of luck and we can win most weeks provided the team plays with the requisite ability to hit targets, and play football for each other.

Last year GWS vs Collingwood Whiley played the same role for GWS;
2014 R22 Collingwood 9 8 17 3 0 9 2 0 1 0 6 96 Loss
His lack of a result might be related to the blokes around him!

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Carlton pasted by Pies (Post Game)
We pay Mick to fix it, not add to it.
Has he done either, or is he just treading water!

I think we should let Casboult do a Brown and create havoc forward of centre. Let him be our escape target and have him hurt teams that want to run off him.
Instead we have him gut running the depth of the field minding a defender, they show him no respect!
Watson was good for this type of role as well. Because he can hit the stick from the centre of the ground they can't disrespect him as much! If only he could clunk marks like Meat.

Here you go Whiley, Averaging 30 disposals at VFL level and kicking goals...but how about you tag Pendlebury.
He was disappointing though. I think he can play, so hoping for a good one.
This is the exact point I have been making about playing good players where they are good, and not turning them in to standardized bunch of heavily coached robots!
I think part of being promoted to the Carlton 1s is that you must drop off your brain, all you have learned, your ambition, drive and motivation with your cellphone at the property steward on the way in!

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: The Silver Lining Thread
To be fair he has been playing some of his best football for the club in his last handful of games.
Yeah, I thought White was playing with good levels of aggression and mobility, stuff I wish some of the others on the list had just a shred of in their kit bag!

The problem with Robbie is (like most of our list) that .....
.....he hears footsteps!
206 has never recovered from the hit by Enright, something Lewis just got a two weeks for doing to Goldstein but Enright got nothing for whacking Warnock!
People think I am paranoid about a bias against Carlton, but it is there in that non-sanction and other non-events. It's also there in cases that appear to be active discrimination such as the Yarran case, contrast by Lewis and Hodge this week! Both from the AFL Media and the AFL Administration!
One or two such events might be coincidence, but when you see a pattern of these things happening time and time again it isn't down to luck! Some of my other more memorable ones;
Hunt stands on Betts hand.
Hodge hits Murphy high.
Ziebell smashes Simpson.
Ziebell smashes Joseph.
Chapman lags on Yarran.
Goddard stages then lags on Yarran.
Goddard stages then McLean gets free kicked bumping(Too Hard!)
Williams gets 44 possessions, is named BOG by every media entity and gets zero Brownlow votes.
Carlton get stung for TPP a $1M fine and two years, EFC get stung for TPP gets $50K fine and wins the flag!
Milburn smashes Silvagni blind and gets suspended for a dangerous tackle!
These aren't grey or vague events, they are blatant and obvious!
