Most of their goals came out the back of the stoppages where they got a run on.
That’s probably the worst I’ve seen Charlie play.
Regarding game plan, I tend to disagree, clearly we went into our shells in the first and last quarter. I don’t think many would say our game plan was no good in the 2nd and 3rd. Move the ball well and should have scored more. 3 shots and goal missed due to two blokes going for the same ball
I'd like to know what MacGovern is going to do to justify the fat term contract. Yet to be impressed. Not buying the hype.
Dow.... Be prepared for second year blues I reckon.
Biggest concern... The coach. Game plan and system... When are we going to see some???
In the last two games there was more intent than any other year under Bolton tongo thhough the corridor. There has been less side to side than previous years meaning we are moving the ball Faster. In theory this should mean better entries into our 50 but we aren’t there yet.
Defensive game plan looked good and we’ve also seen a heap More intercept marking.
Gone are the days of an all encompassing game plan. Different scenarios require different tactics - lots of good progress over the pre season in this regard. As players mature and get fitter execution will improve.
From what I saw last night and heard about his game against hawthorn he was much better. We have him covered up forward now with gibbons possibly and it’s worth a shot.
I like how SOS operates, Mullet and Oshea showed little and he flicked them after 12 mths. If LeBois is shown the door Ill understand. If he is given another year, it means SOS thinks given a go fair go with injury, he has the tools to play AFL (and Ill understand that also).
Gowers is a good example of why not to judge a book too early or think. Lebois hasn’t shown nearly enough compared with what gowers did, but then again SOS didn’t recruit Gowers.
Rowe and Jones are way ahead of JW as neither is slow, nor do they mind a scrap/body on body. JW too often plays like his legs are concrete and he's just had a valium sandwich.
Regarding weitering kicking into the middle, there was one kick in the last quarter that was a great kick, but just to the wrong person, I think it was wright on this occassion. Pretty sure they were doing that to instruction which worked in 3q.
Agree tho, weitering shows zero aggression or jntensity. That chest mark to westoff in the 3rd I think was a joke.
Happy to give him the time to get off the L plates. Gotta get your experience somehow. Lets face, we got one with 700 games of experience, how did that turn out? All I'm saying when its time to kent up, its time to kent up. After Sat first half, its time. PS If they dont drop a few this week, they are tanking.
Are we ruining kids in the meantime, I like Bolton but her wiz they made a great point on the Carlton show this week. They play jack in the 2s to learn to play midfield, when. He comes into the seniors he plays anywhere but!
Agree, I watched the interview where he was door stopped at PP and he said nothing to suggest he has decided to stay. He said: - He wants to focus on getting back from injury in the next to weeks to lead the team - He hasnt spoken to his manager yet. - He spoke about the effort in the first half on Sat was not acceptable and not what they stand for.
Call me naive but I would have liked our CAPTAIN to come out with a strong endorsement of the clubs future and his commitment to it. Whilst I don’t hold it against him for exploring options the fact this is playing out in the media is very disappointing particularly after the weekend we’ve just had. A little window into his MO and further evidence as to how poor a leader he actually is.
