2018-19 AFLW Recruiting

We probably need a thread for this, with the Draft Camp going on for the girls as well as the guys.

[1] We have committed to drafting Abbie McKay, Andrew's 18 year old daughter, as the first ever Father/Daughter selection. She is at the Draft Camp at the moment.

[2] We have committed rookie spots to 2 lasses from a rugby background, Chloe Dalton and Brooke Walker. They played VFLW for the Blues this season and were noticeable.

A girl named 'Emerson': I hadn't heard of that before. I know I am conservative in a number of areas, but ...
Hope she is a good player.

We have made our choices for the 2018 and we have aimed to bolster our midfield and our defence. Considering that the midfield was our biggest weakness (and by a LONG WAY) in the last season, we appear to have made some useful additions.

It also appears that we took good notice of the Draft Camo results in selecting some athletic talent. New Blues highlighted.

Emerson Woods is an outside mid with real pace and endurance. Charlotte Wilson appears to be our next key defender. They have elite athleticism.

Before today our list looked like this:

CARLTON
Players: Shae Audley, Amelia Barden, Lauren Brazzale, Chloe Dalton (rookie), Brianna Davey, Alison Downie, Georgia Gee, Kerryn Harrington, Tayla Harris, Reni Hicks, Jess Hosking, Sarah Hosking, Bridie Kennedy, Katie Loynes, Tilly Lucas-Rodd, Breann Moody, Natalie Plane, Gabriella Pound, Nicola Stevens, Darcy Vescio, Brooke Walker (rookie), Courtney Webb.
Coach: Daniel Harford

We traded Barden in from Collingwood. We picked up 2 code swappers in Dalton and Walker, both of whom have strength and run.
We have today recruited 7 more players in the Draft, improving our athletic base, helping our defence and adding to our midfield.

Apparently we passed on our final pick to select a free agent.

Will Daisy Pearce get to Carlton eventually, it would be the mother of all comebacks, pun intended!

What about Chiochi?

I would like to see Daisy in a Carlton guernsey. I would like to see Steph with us as well. I can't see it happening, but I wouldn't complain for a nanosecond.
