Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Post Game Passion AFL Rd 10: Carlton vs St Kilda
Rumour has it that the Adelaide Football Club is about to strike a Memorial Plaque in honour of the significant gift they're soon to receive from the Carlton Football Club - the number 1 draft pick in the 2019 draft.

As if giving them Eddie wasn't enough. Does our generosity know no bounds?

 ;) >:D

::) We need to stop focusing on this as its not that much of an issue in the scheme of things.
Betts wanted to leave for Adelaide - we didn't give him away.
Yes losing Pick 1 next year hurts a little bit but Stocker will be very good, is already in the system and we still get their first rounder.
And surely we have won out in both the Menzel and Gibbs trades?

I'd be more concerned about our McGovern trade. Could be a while before he starts to show enough to justify what we paid for him and by then he will be headed West.

As for yesterday, as many have said we looked lost and clueless. Either the game plan is downright awful or it is too complicated for the players to grasp.  And there never seems to be any Plan B when the opposition works us out or shuts us down.  All comes down to coaching which is why something needs to be done ASAP.   Certainly doesn't help when players miss easy targets but correct structure can help with that too.

Game was sealed with that piss-weak 50 metre penalty.  Also robbed of a certain goal in the last quarter courtesy of the Saints player clearly throwing the ball right in front of our goal.

Happy with the effort though.

Anyone else see Cripps being grabbed by the throat for about 10 seconds during the melee? Whoever that dirty bastard was needs a whipping.

We were embarrassed by the Saints (again) last week and needed to respond this week and this is what we put up? FFS we just lost to Brisbane!  They are being called the worst team of recent times, their coach is about to get the sack, they've been losing games by triple-digit margins and we fall short by much more than the margin indicates.

We had 22 more inside-50s. The level of incompetence it takes to waste that sort of I50 advantage is significant.

Any credits we earned earlier in the season (and indeed in recent close losses to top teams) has been wiped out by the last two weeks. Will get worse when we lose to the bombers in Rd23... I sure as hell won't be tipping us again.

Casboult and weitering on one leg (did Weits even come back on?) last qtr didn't help.

Bit of luck would've been nice: if only SOS kicked that goal... or Cripps & Levi didn't spoil each other... or Levi's soccer didn't hit the post... if the umps had been a little bit fairer.

Gibbs 9 tackles
SOS a decent 7 disposal game
Cripps 11 clearances!! (Hawks had 22 in total)

If we can get a half-decent forward line we'd be hard to beat.

And yes honourable losses suck arse, but not as much as losing to GWS by 80+ points and posting your lowest score in 50 years! GWS got Ratten sacked, now they'll be getting Dimma sacked. Ironically his replacement may well be Ratten!

I like this stat: "Hawthorn was kept goalless for a quarter by a non-finalist for the first time since Round 6, 2010"
We have wasted our chances with stupid kicks though. A couple more goals would have given us a bit of a chance but the Hawks will be a different team second half. We MUST make use of the breeze this quarter or it will be ugly!!
