Title: Rd 8: In Game Angst: Carlton vs Port Adelaide
Post by: crashlander on May 13, 2016, 09:09:32 am
Our first game at Etihad for some time. We have shown we can play the MCG better this year: can we make the fast rack at Etihad a 'fortress' as well?
Who knows? But I can hope. I'll be at the game, so enjoy....

Walker needs to find some form soon, otherwise he'll be playing in the 2's. Been pretty woeful in the 5 quarters he's played lately.

Casboult out for the game apparently - left knee is iced on the outside.

This will be a good chance to see how valuable or otherwise Casboult is. I'm guessing the former.

Not surprising after time out. Probably should've come back through there

Kerridge has cost us.  Jamo looks lost at times.  Walker rusty as all heck.  And that's probably Casboult's season.

Hyperextension you will be sore, but can play on.

He's done for the day which suggests more.

From the very first moment i saw it, it seemed to me to be a carbon copy of Juddy doing his knee. Twisting for a mark in he air and landing awkwardly with the knee giving way.

At this rate we will end up with Murphy in the Ruck. Anyone over 195cm is in danger of going to Hospital. FMD.

Kreuzer rucking solo.

Copped a whack into the ribs/sternum, was down for a good 60 seconds before taking the next ruck contest.

5 minutes later gets up sore from a marking contest holding his knee. Straight to the bench.

Given the injuries this blokes has had over the journey, is it smart to have him rucking 1 out all day, especially since his only backup is our only key forward....who is also injured.
Need Phillips back!

Rowe was moved forward to cover Casboult.
Now moved into the middle to play ruck.

So we are short, down back, up forward and in the ruck! If we pull this one off its a miracle.

Too rusty after missing alot of weeks. Rushed him back too quickly. That's the selector''s fault, not his, he's not ready.

Just looking at both sides at half-time.....They're stuffed
It must be taking a bit of a toll and the side that wins might be the one that handles that the best.

Port killing us with their run.  To bs fair we held them up for 15 minutes but our errors let them kick that goal late.

By the way this is why you play Everitt.

I dunno if its just me but Kerridge is getting worse by the week. Start the NAB games like a house on fire but has gotten worse every game. His disposal has been awful. Am I being harsh?

Shocking luck for Levi, let's hope it's not too bad but it doesn't look good.
Playing well again but it's hard to see us winning a man short, particularly a key forward.
Umpiring very good, letting the game run and not paying every little free kick, good to see.
Byrne continues to impress.

I like his endeavour. I think his problem is he saves his worst clangers for the most crucial times.  :-\

You are not being harsh. He is terrible. I have no idea what he offers that Nick Graham doesn't.

He's a battler at best.

Unfortunately for us, I can see th merit of his endeavor

At the game and crowd went crazy chanting Krooze when he returned to the field just before half time. No doubt his a fan favorite.

Hope we are not playing him if his not right out of desperation.

Will be very unfair and questions will be asked if he sustains a worse injury in the second half.

Has a massive heart and won't go half paced which is a worry if his not 100%

Woosha ran off the ground after doing his ACL.

I've torn my ACL playing bball. I limped off the court. Very sore. GP/scans showed nothing.
I tore my ACL soon after playing netball. I limped off, very sore. Didn't go to the docs.
I completely snapped my ACL soon after playing netball again. Walked off. Very little pain at all.

Sometimes no pain is actually a worse sign.

Alot of domination, territory, forward pressure for little reward. Missing that marking target. Jones certainly doesn't provide the same presence as Casboult.

Port didn't go forward much but when they broke the press it was always open and not hard to kick goals.

Rowe has been very good given that he has been asked to play 2 roles today he doesn't normally do.
