Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 22 : Blues Choke Against Injectors (Anti-Losing Rage)
*sigh*....another with the "We're not good enough" crap as the sole excuse....but then you also go on & (correctly mind you) agree with Cookie in regards to being mentally weak.....so which is it rocky? Btw, not having a crack also equates to not running hard enough both ways, not working hard enough to create opportunities for your teammates, not ensuring you've covered all bases around the stoppages, not sticking diligently to your opponent. Generally when you lose a game of footy, it's because a team wasn't good enough - yeah, we all get that already....how bout we take the simplicity out of it & dig a bit deeper than that, as it was there for all to see last night.
Sorry Brettie but trying to dig deep into all the problems we have as a team would take pages and pages and for all that effort what would it get me other than RSI? I guess what I'm saying is we're just not at the Geelong, Hawthorn, Sydney level who if they play at 60% still win. All our planets need to be in alignment for us to get over the line and so little things like Brock going off or missing early shots on goal can have a dramatic impact.
Our deficiencies get highlighted by plenty on these pages they don't need me to bang on about how shizen we are and how Mick's a disaster and that Murph should step down. I'm just offering an opinion not trying to solve the problem, as if I ever could by posting something on a website.

I was at the game, our boys tried so I don't get the lack of effort comments. We're just not very good.

Got tired of reading all the rants and decided to stop at the first post that best described the situation. 8 pages before I came across it. You can say all you like about how p!ssweak we were but the truth is they were contesting, they were putting in and they were having a crack. We are just not good enough. The writing was on the wall as soon as our 'gun' inclusion Duigan missed his first 2 sprays/shots on goal and when Brock went down. By the time the 3rd quarter came around 4 goals 8 was no surprise and the last quarter fadeout was inevitable. God awful result but lets face it unless the CFC plays at it's optimum level for 100% of the time these results are going to be as common as bird droppings.

Both spot on. I would also add that being not good enough includes being not mentally tough enough or physically fit enough to play/compete at the level required in today's football.

Exactly Cookie.

The Graham kid sounds like he has the talent but can someone confirm whether or not he gets the hard ball as this is a glaring deficiency with our side. Give me hope, someone?

I haven't seen him shirk an issue. Goes hard. Gets the inside aggot and can link up on the outside and deliver effectively. As I mentioned previously, he's got a footy brain hence makes good decisions quickly and acts.

Thanks Baggers. I hope he gets a decent run tomorrow.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Chris Yarran has gone backwards.
CY is 22 yo ffs and had a pretty darn hard life as a kid......

Some of you blokes really have no f'n idea (not directed at you personally Baggers)'

Get this guy right and he is a match winning 300 game champion for CFC but nah, most of you want to trade him now for a bag of peanuts.

What dumb ass stuff were you guys churning out at 22 yo?

I'd trade Murphy out first quite frankly on current output (if it was MM vs CY choice only)

I tend to agree with you flyboy, although probably with a little less gusto.
Yarran 23 at the end of the year,
Murphy just turned 26,
throw in Gibbs and Kreuzer at 24 (both of whom have had verious people ready to trade them out)
I'm not ready to give up on these blokes just yet. I'd like to give Mick maybe one more year

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 19 : Blues Lose To Frockers (Aftermatch Angst)
Got back from OS last night and just sat down in front of the telly just after Irish kicked his goal that put us in front in the 3rd. After that it was pretty much all donwhill. Felt like getting back on the plane. Looks to me like we're still just not good enough. How that translates in delistings at the end of the year I don't know but I have faith in Mick finding the right balance.
Guys like Robbo and Curnow should be wary. Give their all but their lack of composure and kicking skill are just too much of a negative in todays football. All the Freo boys move and kick very well.
Watson is a spud. I know this sounds like a contradiction after my previous coment, but I don't care how well he kicks. He is a false dawn. Just doesn't have the noggin. Almost Dave Warner like. Was happy when he went up forward because he scares the crapper out of me down back.
Yarran, the most lazy and inconsistant player in the team. At least Eddie gives his all when he's not playing well.
Gibbs, was playing good footy on the ball earlier now he finds himself down back again. Must be very frustrating for him. If anyone can shed some light on the greatest mystery in AFL history, Laidler not getting a game (even before his lates injury), I'd love to know what it is.
Can't win games when so many are off the boil. Judd, Murphy etc. Carrazzo going off doesn't help. Maybe seen the end of his best football.
Very disconcerting when 2 of your better players were Simmo and Scotty. We may be on the verge of re-building before we ever got going!
Port winning today just about sews it up and good luck to them they derserve it way more than us. They've bounced back from 3rd last to be in the 8 with basically the same side.
I just hope we don't end up 9th.
