Robert Heatley Stand / Yarran to jog in GF Sprint
Quote
Carlton’s Chris Yarran will be seeking some Grand Final glory of his own this weekend, with the Blues’ No.13 set to take part in the AFL Grand Final Sprint.

Yarran admits he isn’t doing any “special” preparation ahead of the big race.

“I’m basically going to wing it and see how I go,” Yarran said. “My plan is to go out there and put my foot down and hope for a win, but there are a lot of quick fellas out there, so I’m going to have my work cut out.”

LOL. Why doesn't the 'winging it' part surprise me?  ;D

Robert Heatley Stand / Scotto To Play On If Body Permits
Quote
Carlton's Heath Scotland has ruled out reaching 300 AFL games – but says he would like to play on next year if his body is up to it.

The 33-year-old has 262 games under his belt already, but has told radio FIVEaa the future is uncertain.

"No I won't get to 300," Scotland said. "I'm not sure about next year, I've left it with Mick at the moment and we will sit down once the season is finished.

"To be honest I would like to go on, but I have a few things to go through to make sure the body is sound next year."

I don't think we can afford to lose him ATM with the lack of leadership at the club.

Robert Heatley Stand / Chris Yarran has gone backwards.
Watching the replay yesterday I couldn't believe the lows that Chris Yarran has stooped to under the new regime. I wanted to go back and look at his season in 2011, he was a human highlight reel. I don't think you could show two minutes of highlights from this season. Take a look at these to see just how promising this kid was a couple of years back. Now he's just a shadow of himself, playing with little or no confidence and looking almost disinterested, as opposed to how Ratts had him flying in 2011. And people say Ratten couldn't develop the players. Where has this Chris Yarran gone we could really use him ATM.

Trouble brewing at Manure already:

Wayne Rooney's Manchester United career appears to be over.

Rooney has taken that as a personal slight on a player who has given nine years' service to the Old Trafford cause and is 'angry and confused' about his treatment.

The offending words were delivered to Sunday newspaper journalists during a briefing with Moyes in Bangkok last week.

Moyes said: "Overall, my thought on Wayne is that if for any reason we had an injury to Robin van Persie we are going to need him and I want as many options as possible."

It has been widely interpreted as Moyes stating he regards Rooney as an understudy to the prolific Van Persie.

And understandably, that has gone down very badly.

Robert Heatley Stand / Jamo declares Hendo a Star

Quote
Lachie Henderson has become Carlton's most important player and the equal of any swingman in the AFL, teammate Michael Jamison says.

Quote
The 23-year-old had previously been thrown forward only occasionally mid-match this season, most effectively in the narrow round seven loss to the Saints when he kicked three final-quarter goals to give the Blues a chance of victory.

Swingmen have become must-have players following the success of other defenders-turned-forwards like Geelong's Harry Taylor, Essendon's Jake Carlisle and Collingwood's Ben Reid.

Blues full-back Jamison, who has formed a strong defensive combination with Henderson this season, believes his mate deserves to be regarded as highly as that prized trio.
