Non free aside, Watson a liability.

Our boys don't seem to be focusing on the ball carrier rather, they are focussing the intended target.
Title: Re: Blues V Hawks - R13 - In Game thread
Post by: Mondy on June 13, 2014, 08:09:52 pm
They're now being out muscled and look scared in defence.  So basically a normal Hawthorn game.

Post by: Mondy on June 13, 2014, 08:11:46 pm
I'd stick Watson up forward and leave him there.  Couldn't be any worse.  Seriously, he can't move.  Luke Livingston MK2

Clearance kings at work

Watson literally moving in slow motion.  Our skills are worse than normal.  But that's because we're scared.  That Suckling goal was kicked with complete ease.

They are a pleasure to watch. Hard, clean ball use, hard running. Hamburgers with the lot! Even their crap players are solid.

Watson looks completely shattered as a player.  If I was him I'd start showing my old willy to girls on Facebook just so Carlton will let me go.

Rowe though is playing his heart out.  Judd was great.  The rest are frightened and not playing with any brains or composure.

I'm totally gobsmacked, Rowe looks to have Roughead's measure tonight, apart from him getting away early in the quarter and that crap free kick to Hale, Rowe has done really well thus far.

And poor old Matty Watson, he looks like a deer in the headlights every time he has the ball in his hands.

Just waiting for Robinson to put his dukes up and go toe-to-toe with Hodge in a good old fashioned bare-knuckle brawl.

Man up.... Stop letting birchall do what he wants...

And let Suckling kick two goals.  I mean it's great for my Supercoach, but seriously everyone knows he'll go for goal if he's on the fifty and yet we're letting him run loose in the forward line.

This is why we are where we are.

i know a lot are blaming cr@p umpiring for our last two defeats and it did have some effect. But when you lead by 16 points in the last quarter and you can't win a game, that says it all about your physical and mental toughness.

We don't have enough players who have that and you can see it tonight.

We are gone season well and truly over.

Where he has seldom ever done enough to 'push' for senior selection. Only in because of no other option with Hendo and Jammo being out.

Should put Watson up forward and tell him to just bring the ball to ground and let the smalls do the work. He will only continue to embarrass himself down back... and leak goals. Waite down back.

I have NEVER liked him as a player, he does the odd flashy thing but he has limited ability and will never be a top liner at any club let alone ours.

Sensational pack mark and three goals to Casboult tonight.

I've worked out what his kicking problem is too, he walks in straight and with 3-4 steps left before kicking he swings out really wide on his right so his kicking leg actually slices across the ball at point of impact. If you could get him to stay straight in his approach, the yips would near disappear.

Judd is back to that clean handling of the ball. Still rusty bit some life in the old man still.

Cas took some incredible marks and their defenders have no chance in the air.

Oh and another thing, for all his grit and determination, you can bet your Niagara falls that Robbo will not take a contested mark

You're kidding right?

No, he NEVER EVER, all right, I won't be as dogmatic. He has a one out of ten average taking a contested mark. That last one before the siren was a prime example.

Putting his hands up in the air as he does means that he will NEVER FKN EVER take a contested mark. If he had the ability to take a contested mark, he would have taken that one.

Told you, Robbo cannot take a contested mark.

Because he ain't 7ft tall. Foolish

He was in the front position, got his hands on the ball, but it didn't stick. that's three times tonight so far in a contested situation.

take the blinkers off, and put aside the bias and call it for what it is. he can't take a contested mark.

Never thought I'd be typing these words, but Cas is keeping us in the game. Good to see. Nice work son.

Judd, Carrots, Cas good.
Yazz unsighted.
Rowe ok.
Gibbs, ok but a little too much pack skirting for my liking.

Ihave it on good authority that Waite will have to be knocked unconscious in front of all three umpires and he still wont get a free kick

No doubt they'd give a free kick against him for staging!

Never a truer word has been said. (both posts)

Casboult has a chance here to really stamp himself on the competition as an up and coming star. That mark was as good as I've seen.

Are the Carlton players avoiding Waite? Has had the spud Schoenmaker on toast plenty of times and ignored.

Still, good on him for his off the ball work which has been fantastic

Another farcical display by the maggots.
What does Waite have to do to get a free, that tackle was a great running tackle.
Umpires obviously don't see our boys have there arms chopped. Hodges on Robbo on the wing was bright as day..
It's time for the club to get on the front foot and bag the umpiring frat club.

It's time to lift the skill level and beat these bunch of honey poo eaters.

Post by: blue4life on June 13, 2014, 09:12:21 pm
We're giving it a good crack again but Hawthorn are more polished, their field kicking is better, they make space better, they know where to run, they have one player instinctively sag off to receive the get out ball, they're just an all around better football team.
Great to see big Levi kick straight for a change and that pack mark was as good as I've seen from someone in a Carlton jumper for years, Rowe doing OK but we really miss Jamison, Waite playing a good game which probably means he'll have a shocker next week, Daisy's skills are a cut above most of his team mates.
We're still in with a chance but Hawthorn will need to slacken off and start making a few mistakes.

Yeah but goes in at the risk of life and limb, tackles like he wants to kill his opponent and actually finds a team-mate when he kicks or hand balls. Murphy, got ability, but I have never looked at him with 3 minutes to go like I would look at Hodge or Sewell, and think, this bloke will win this game for us.

Been paying attention to Hill, he is a seagull of the highest order, I'm yet to see him in the pack or taking a hit. He's nothing more than a glorified link player, takes the soft possession running past the stationery player and then kicks long.

Any defender who plays him close and applies pressure will get the rewards, he will crumble.

Kane Lucas & Brad Hill, two peas in a pod !!

Right Mondy, Everitt has been ordinary, as has Touhey. Armfield shocking and Watson may as well have stayed at home.

Warnock has actually been terrible in the ruck. Plenty of hit outs but straight to the opposition.

Quite apart from anything else, the Hawks are masters of broken play. When they can't take clean possession, they just keep the ball moving forward. They do it more and better than anyone else.

We are stuffed if we don't kick the next. And that should have been Roughheads mark

Looks like they're going to have the 16 point lead.

Levi has given away a free kick in the oppositions forward line every week especially in the last quarter. that's because he's brainless, but not just that, it's because he gets tired and lazy and can't think under those conditions.

And despite doing it nearly every week, still hasn't learned

Yet he was smart from the centre.

However Simmo tried to do too much and they chopped us up.

They are just really good at all facets of the game. Coach said before the game, "lose one, replace him with another soldier". They come in and know their role and perform it. They have few weak links.

And Armfield again giving his opponent 5 metres start every time.

He's got plenty of the ball, but how many times when he has had it, has he stopped, gone back and then kicked it high in the air to a contest.

Now that's interesting.

I thought that the umpire 60 metres away could only call a free that was off the ball.

But Spanger whatever his name is got one from the umpire 60 metres away.

SO WHY THE FK DIDN'T MENZEL GET ONE LAST WEEK. The officiating umpire said he didn't see it. What's the good of having 3 of the maggots if they can't call an obvious free kick.

It's hard to win games of football when at least 20 of your handballs miss the target, Hawthorn were miles cleaner.
We both had key players missing but Hawthorn probably had more out, we're still a long way off the pace.
It's a tough call but that was probably Watson's last game in a Navy Blue jumper.

What a poor team effort in the fourth.

Midfield without Judd and Gibbs is next to retarded and soft under pressure, but that has never changed.

Agree - not sure that he can do much more. Gives up size height and weight every week he plays. Gets smacked behind the umpires backs over and over.
