Robert Heatley Stand / Re: 2018 Rd 2: Post Game Prattle: Carlton vs Gold Coast
Example being we always had a loose man like Doc, Weits or Marchbank intercepting opposition forward thrusts unchecked, thus inflating their marks and disposal count.
Fast forward to 2018 and we are no longer playing the loose man and have lost our General in Doc. Not playing a zone and going man on man when we start to get beaten, and continuing to select players that are simply not up to it. Not going to single out any ne player as there is 22 of them out there.
I honestly believe demoting Weitering would be detrimental to his development and think he should be played as a loose man chopping off and helping whoever needs it most. Reads the play well and is a neat kick when he's got time and space. Lynch should have been double teamed from the get go but hey what would we know right?
Rowe needs to come back and play on the Gorillas and Marchbank could play on a wing. Jones on the second best defender and I would give Macreadie another crack, not as a close checking defender either as I rate his sidestep and willingness to take the game on and he has neat skills. Can play tall or small.
Looking forward to Williamsons return and the inclusions of Lang, Kennedy and I would give Kerr a crack as a FF. The more competition for spots the better as for too long games have been gifted to potato sacks disguised as Carlton footballers.

No disrespect to O'Shea, but picking him with the other tall defenders in the 22, makes zero sense.Very tall back six, Byrne is 188 but plays much taller. Desperately need some run from him. He just needs to be a bit more composed and pick his time to go. You can tell the boys want to get it to him to run it out, has a killer sidestep. Just needs to use the ball a bit better.
I think we should win by 5 goals, but I'll take a one point win. Hope Cunners can cement himself a spot. Has a bit of toe and I think he'll make it, if he believes he can. Talent is there

When he plays on instinct and relaxes a little more and gains some confidence in the ones he won't be getting complained about.

Yeah. There's a bit to dislike about Caddy.Im afraid you are correct mate, but it's also his face
Mainly because he plays for Ninthmond and he is becoming a bloody good footballer.

Weitering, prefer Macreadie to have an extended run
Byrne had no space to play, but I really do rate
We are way too reliant on Kreuzer, our most important player on the list imo
I am more happy than not though. Bring on the Suns, should be a good match

Loved when he got polaxed by Nankervis jumped straight back up and showed no signs of emotion.Pissed me off that little Levi ran straight past Nank without roughing him up after he smashed Big Zac Fisher. If CAS had Fishers guts and mongrel.....

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Rnd 1 Carlton vs Richmond - Pre-Game
I'm hoping Cuningham and Kennedy can fill Gibb's shoes somewhat. But I'm absolutely struggling to pick a best 22, we finally have a bit of depth.
Can't wait for a bit of footy to start, withdrawals atm

Bring back Gozza. He was a character that's for sure. I echo the sentiments of the majority. Love CSC, I've been around since '09. CSC is much better than TC and BF imo.
I only go to BigFooty.com during the trade period as they have 2-3 in the know type posters but in general and overall CSC is much more like a little community.

Pickett needs a bit of time down back to learn some insight into the game as a whole...he has only one gear and thats fast forward at every opportunity. He has the tools to be a very good and exciting player as I have said many times before but he just needs to become a better decision maker and know when to curb his natural instinct and play safe.Couldn't agree more, lad needs time off the wing/hb
Liam Jones is a classic example of not knowing much about the game and appreciating raw talent needs to be combined with intelligent decision making and the only way is to be given a job where you have responsibility for the entire game minding a man, relying on and combining with others and thats down back in a defensive role.
At the moment Pickett is a one man show who does his own thing when he feels like it.....shades of Chris Yarran but I think we need to stick with Pickett and give him the Liam Jones treatment and see how much he wants to learn and have an AFL career.

Didn't see the game, but not overly surprised by the result.my thoughts exactly
My question is, with Cripps and Curnow out, why aren't the likes of Palmer and Smedts getting a game? It's times like now, late in the season when we have a few injuries that they should be useful additions to the team.
Not great form in the VFL probably hasn't helped them, but it's disappointing......

Fingers crossed that H finally gets a gig.Agree 100%. May as well let him play out the year now. I may yet be proven wrong but guys like Graham, Smedts, Boekhorst, Sumner etc don't seem like they will be part of the future. Harry, Willo, Cunners and Macreadie are most certainly apart of bigger and better things.
You'd think that the I/C would be Cuningham, Williamson, McKay and Graham (Emerg: Armfield, Boekhorst & Smedts?).
