Actually I think the club needs to make an official statement the performance was unacceptable and a review is now enacted before things get worse. I have lost all faith in the Austins, Russells and CFC coaches of this world unless pragmatic changes are enacted.. unfortunately, the pragmatic changes are game plan changing to this broken system. Lets see what happens against the lesser teamn because we have failed miserably against the contenders and no way do we deserve a flag or should be in the window for it as too many accept mediocrity.
I think Williams is best suited to running with the ball, if he must play, keep him on the hbf, not bp. Use his speed and delivery, minimize his need to defend deep 1 on 1.
I would have liked us to bury them in the last, but they hung on and got the win. I think Charlie should have gone short rather than long when he took that mark down back and just killed the game.
Loving pittonets game tonight. He is being a real pest. Got inside gawns head early. Tackling well and getting the dees players to lose focus on the ball and we are benefiting from it.
Of course his goal and general ruck play has been good too.
It's been a long time since we've had a ruck with some genuine aggression, enjoys the hard stuff and loves the verbal.
Reckons he might have a broken finger too.
Hopefully he can keep gawn quiet for 1 more quarter.
And Gawn, as expected has had a good game ruck wise, probably a bit quiet around the ground
Agree...That would be something and could be a catalyst for change, finding that player brave enough would be the tough task. Maybe a gay senior AFL Administrator might be able to entice a few players to come out together and make it less pressure than just one individual having to shoulder all the attention they would get.
The fact that in 2024 there would be any pressure just shows how ridiculous the whole preposition is.
“Resting” Zac won’t improve his ability to stay on the park. He was subbed off for a corked calf one week and a corked glute the next week. Two impact injuries or Zac’s body saying enough is enough?
If we were to “manage” Zac, who comes into the team, Billy Wilson? Perhaps we could play Kennedy in defence and bring back Carroll?
Our situation is nothing like Geelong’s. They have almost a full list to pick from and half a dozen veterans who can benefit from an occasional spell. We have half a dozen players who probably aren’t up to the demands of AFL, several other injured players and no veterans who need an occasional spell.
Tend to agree, to rest players you need to have someone worthwhile to promote, not sure if we have that. A fully fit list on the other hand would open up options…
Charles has become something of a (considerable) impact player. Very little for 100 minutes + 15-20 minutes of freaky stuff. Aint enough. Like others I've noticed that with aggot in hand up the field he is deadly with his inside 50 disposal. More please. And if he's playing injured, how come and what is it? Maybe his knee issues are such that there are just things he can no longer do? Are we nursing him through games? Yep, this is what happens when we don't know... speculation sets in.
I’m sure in an interview early this year Charlie said he’s on a modified program because of his knees, it sounded like he doesn’t get encouraged to do more than light running.
