My doubts are more about the Swans asking price....two first rounders is overs IMHO.
His past month has been poor and he looks like he has switched off, I just dont want to be paying overs both trade and
contract wise and limiting our trade/draft movement.
I'm keen to pick up a couple of good free agents and maybe use one first rounder on a contracted player only..

His past month has been poor.
But his start to the year was AA.

Wasn't he leading the goalkicking for about 6 weeks?

2 first rounders and get a 2nd back, i'd do that deal.
Our first rounder next year will be in the teens i reckon (finals bound) and sydneys second this year will be early 20's.

So if we do 2 firsts for a second it'll be something like...
Our first this year and a 'teen pick next year for Papley and pick 20-ish

We sell our 1st rounder for pick 20. Get Papley for a first rounder this year.

I'm with you Kruddler....we'll have to pay overs to some extent because of his existing contract. But agree, he was AA in the early part of the season. Not having the likes of Franklin and Reid their consistently has forced him to almost be their go to forward in marking contests...that's not what he's there for. Our forward line needs improvement but if he's running around at the feet of McKay, Curnow, Casboult, TDK etc in the next few years, I reckon he'd take that.

We haven't had a goal kicking small forward since Eddie in his prime years....Papley will slot straight into that role...and can have a burst in the midfield from time to time.

Isn't he good mates with Nic Newman?

Zac Williams as a Free Agent and Papley through the trade period.....with the likes of Curnow, Newman, Marchbank to come back next year...along with Kemp from this year's draft....it would mean plenty of dead wood can be cleaned out.

Plowman played a very good game - did everything right.  people seem to jump on a brain fart every week or two, but he generally does do everything right, and keeps some very dangerous forwards quite most of the time.   I'd hate to play on the likes of Papley, Charlie Cameron, etc...

Onto Papley - i hope he's stinking it up on purpose so he can drive his price down a bit.  If we had to pay for him based on first half of season form he'd cost a bomb.  On the other side of the coin, possibly a bit worrying???

You won't get an argument out of me re Plowman's value to the side... I don't get how he is a whipping boy for some. Many classy moments this season from him.

Well the top liners usually give Plowman a spanking.

Have to disagree, MBB Old Son. To a man, I reckon our backline has been strong... with the possible exception of SPS, who's been up and down this year and I think we all agree should be moved up the ground into a more creative position.

Well Baggers Ol' Boy, Ill agree with MBB on this one. Plowman craps his pants when he is one on one and has to defend. I'm sure if you go back and have a look at replays this year, you will see plenty of examples of this. I even think teams try and get Plow isolated and play through his man. Papley has been shocking of late, Plow beat him for sure but in the end beat a man who is in terrible nick or tanking.
2017-16th
2018-Wooden Spoon
2019-16th
2020-dare to dream? 11th is better than last I suppose
2021-Pi$$ or get off the pot
2022- Real Deal or more of the same? 0.6%
2023- "Raise the Standard" - M. Voss Another year wasted Bar Set
2024-Back to the drawing boardNo excuses, its time

For every example of him crapping his pants, you'll find 2 of him outmarking his opponent.

But...that is expected, and doesn't get noticed.
