teague and coaches should be really concerned / 7 goals start to a young side missing 4 stars . If he kicks straight from that free we lose .
Nah we draw.

Before we think about giving Gov the flick, we gotta try him in defence.

Our back line gonna look like Spencer St Station and peak our.

I just got an email from Crippa and Doc.  Among other things, they wrote;

“We’ve been in every game, we now expect to win every game and know our best is good enough to mix it with anyone in the competition.”

I think they are right, provided we don’t give opposition teams a start, sort out our kicks inside 50 and improve our goal kicking accuracy.

It was a good win but it would have been a travesty if we had lost.  It goes a little way towards making up for the last two losses.

Plowman was outstanding but it was our defensive pressure all over the ground that enabled him to play as he did.  Good signs indeed  :)
Was Plowman good or Papley terrible? Been following Papley's games and form (he was in my Fantasy Footy Team) and he has been putrid the last 5 or so weeks.

A few interesting things about McGovern
His stats aren't dramatically different from his Adelaide time...he's down a bit on averages (especially this year)
At 191cm he's a player that 'plays tall' for that height. He has a good leap.
The surprising thing for me was that he's only played the 74 games.

Everyones averages should be down this year due to the reduced playing times.

Papley looked threatening but Plowman’s positioning meant that Papley wasn’t able to use his pace.  More importantly, Plowman backed himself, took some good marks and provided run out of defence.
“Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don’t you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?”  Oddball

If you have a look at the huddle at the end of three quarter time you can see that Gov wants to be somewhere else, like a hole in the ground which is where he kept looking. He's got some mental demons.

The old saying was " Mugs to the backline"......
I thought you had a higher opinion of Weiters, but I do recall you bagging him quite a bit! :o

Weitering is a specialist backman so he doesn't qualify under the mugs criteria.
I did have my doubts on him recovering his mojo after that bad injury and said so but he has been super impressive and any doubts I had are long gone.
McGovern qualifies as a mug given he is a forward, hopeless at the minute and others want to make him a reborn  backman.

Whataya mean Old Saying.
My late father  was a Carlton man, he would use that expression, mainly on forwards who couldnt kick straight.
Reckoned they were mugs who belonged down back....he loved Harry" Soapy" Vallence and Fev.

His disposal was spot on at important moments too.
