Robert Heatley Stand / Re: ELIMINATION FINAL : Ninth Beats Ninthmond (Ha Ha Ha Ending)
I said that Richmond would look like Napolean's army leaving Moscow after Sunday and they were.
McInnes looks like the lack of a pre-season is starting to count against him, and if Maclean is fit, they should play him for McInnes. I think Walker will need to play as the third tall and Yarran will need to play down back as the three amigoes up forward doesn't work consistantly enough.
Casboult will come in only if Kruezer has an injury. I thought MK was critical yesterday in allowing Carlton to dominate the rucks in the 2nd half which helped the likes of Judd, Murphy & Gibbs dominate the mid-field battle. I actually thought he was the strength in the early part of the last quarter that pressed home our third quarter advantage.
Finally, I said on Saturday night that I agreed with Eddie Maguire. I thought it was disgraceful that Carlton would have to play in Sydney and then Perth, before we play Hawthorn in the Grand Final.

I'm going - I've got my tickets - and hopefully I will witness a bedraggled, beaten and broken Tiger Army leaving the MCG in as much disarray as when Napolean's army left Moscow. To the other Carlton members and supporters who are all mealy mouthed about the Mighty Blues at the moment, this is what you can miss out on if you don't turn up. We are not expected to win so it is all upside for me.

It looks like Judd, Maclean & Scotland will be right to play. If Judd isn't cherry ripe to play the whole game, I would play him as the substitute, allowing him to come on just before 3/4 time and then make a massive impact in the last quarter. I would think that Ellard & Duigan are two who are likely to miss out, though you have got to love Duigan's shepherd in the last quarter. Our forward line functions around running and speed, and controlling the rucks against Richmond will be essential. So I would go with Warnock & Kreuzer and Casboult would miss out

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 22 : Blues Choke Against Injectors (Anti-Losing Rage)
First off, we had 7 of our best 22 not playing, then Brock Maclean went down in the first quarter. Second, except for 20 mins in the second quarter and about 10 minutes in the last, we played all over them. Finally, it was only when we decided to knock Simpson out, the only Carlton player actually trying to win the game for us, did Essendon get over the top of us.
Our goal kicking was appalling. It wasn't just the 22 behinds, but also the large number of total misses. Can someone please explain what Armfield was doing just before half time. I happened to get to the ground early this week and saw both of the warm ups. The worrying thing for me that they were missing shots at goal in the first warm up, and then they went in and got changed into their gear and came out and continued to miss shots at goal. Then the played the same way throughour the match. Could someone please esplain to the players that practicing doing something does make it better. You need to practice doing things right to improve. In other words it is no point practicing your goal kicking if you are not practicing kicking goals. Did anyone in the coaching panel, like the forward coach, notice the players were missing shots at goal in the warm ups and then take them aside to fix the problem. Everone seemed to busy being pally with the Essendon coaching group.
The worst thing about Saturday's result is that it has vindicated Essendon's behaviour. They will be thinking that if the gods thought what they were doing was wrong then they would punish them. This result will only encourage them to not take responsibility for the despicable acts they have been engaged in and encourage the belief that they are the victims in all of this. It is going to take me a long to forgive Carlton for Saturday's performance.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: R22 Carlton vs CheatsFC Pre Game
I think in the two games we lost to Fremantle & the Bulldogs we have had one too many defensive midfielders and not enough ball winners. Having an extra ball winner, improving the accountability of the players and moving Gibbs forward really helped the functioning of the team. I think Cachia has had a really good year but for team balance he is the one who will miss out in the short term, especially with Curnow playing well. I hope we can make the finals and then we can use Judd as our substitute. That would be a real weapon rather than the juiced up weapon the Bummers have been using.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 21: Richmond v Carlton (Pre-game Prayers)
There is no way we can win this week. We are simply not committed to victory. Casboult to come in, along with Bell, Robertson Graham & Buckley. Watson, Judd & Gartlett out injured along with Yarran and Cachia. Cachia has been good but he is running out of energy. Rowe stays in as a replacement for Watson down back.
