Yeah I don't think they'll risk Rozee....pretty sure they have the bye next week.
Cincotta probably not a bad option on JHF, especially when he goes forward.
To be honest, I can't see us making too many changes from last week unless there's any late injuries we don't know about. I'm not sure there's a lot to be gained by changing the sub from Carroll to Binns.
If it's wet as some have indicated, they might just ruck Soldo and one of Finlayson or Marshall.....hard to see them having Dixon, Marshall and Finlayson up forward in the wet, along with Georgiades....and without Rioli.
If it's up against Finlayson or Marshall then H would be fine. If it's up against Finlayson, Kennedy could probably be enough of a chop out for 5-8 minutes each quarter.
My bad....sounds like Dixon was rested against North and will be available. But if it is wet, hard to see them going with Dixon, Finlayson, Marshall, Georgiades and Soldo?
I think they're without Dixon, Rioli and possibly Rozee?
If it's wet, our bigger bodied mids might have an advantage....will definitely need the likes of Williams, Owies, Fogarty and Fantasia (or Motlop) at the feet of Charlie and Harry.
The free kick farce in the first 3 quarters was laughable. I don't remember one of our great tackles being rewarded despite the umpires giving them an eternity to get rid of it. Harry was grappled and scragged in most marking contests too.
Disappointing to let them pinch a few easy goals at the end when a 10 goal percentage booster was there for the taking.
But no real passengers I can think of.
As much as I love Pitto, we do seem to gel a bit better when it's TDK and Harry supporting. At times in the F50 it was Cripps and Kennedy taking the ruck contests too.
Charlie needs to work harder when things aren't going his way. That said, he should've kicked 6 in the end and he did turn it around after half time. It was like Mac Andrew had a beacon on his head in the first half....the number of times we kicked it straight to where he was or on top of the head of our smallest forwards.
LP....if Weitering misses and Young comes in, that'll be Young and Marchbank as our key defenders.....Lukosius and King will have a field day. If we drop this game, with Port next week in Adelaide, we're quickly losing touch with the pack.
For mine....Motlop, Fogarty and Saad all in if fit. There's not much else left. Out goes Fantasia, Cincotta and Durdin.
Then a replacement for Pitto. Do we bring in Young to do some rucking or just go with Harry as backup and bring in someone else? There's not too many left in the VFL that I can think of to come in so maybe Cincotta stays in and Williams plays a bit more in the middle/forward?
Marchbank not a bad option given they have McDonald, Amartey and McLean up forward. But based on history, he'll likely go down with an injury first game back too.
Heeney is the matchup that looks almost impossible. Sydney were ruthlessly efficient against the Dockers over here and he was their best again. It's a pretty powerful side when Luke Parker can't get a game.
We weren't that bad against Geelong or Collingwood and could've won them both. Last night, we got reward for efforts in the first 3 quarters.
On the umpiring....surely they go in at half time and look at the count and look to square up? The difference between the two halves was ridiculous?
Weitering, Walsh and Cripps were just next level last night and Weitering just seemed to have a spring in his step last night with McGovern back? Kemp was good but needs to stop trying to take Mark of the Year when he should be defending.
Cincotta was brilliant on Pickett and not sure who was on Fritsch but he didn't do much either.
Agree on Hollands...caught a couple of times but was brilliant, especially early. Disappointing to lose Cerra but Hewett will come straight back in for him next week and maybe Carroll or Binns as the sub.
One of Boyd's quieter games this year but still very effective with ball in hand.
And Charlie might not have kicked a bag but some of his defensive efforts were really good and he worked May right up the ground at times to nullify his influence.
And Pitto...definitely broke even on the night IMO with Gawn. Gawn was one of their better players but not as dominant as he could've been.
Disappointing to only win by a point after kicking the first 6 goals, but Melbourne are a top 4 side, beat Geelong last week....so take it and move one.
My bad Rocky....yeah missed the obvious one in Saad. Hopefully he's only a few more weeks away but we need to win a couple before then otherwise we might be down the ladder a bit and just fighting to make the 8.
WIth no Doc/JSOS available, this is almost our best 23 with probably Motlop and Fogarty as the only ones to come in....and maybe Williams if in form. If Marchbank could stay on the park I could see him being the second key defender.
On paper, both teams look very evenly matched. We've probably got the two better key forwards, but they've got arguably the best key defender combo in the game. Midfields are probably pretty even although Gawn probably gives them a slight edge...but we have two ruckmen compared to Gawn and Van Rooyen as backup.
