The Sports Desk / Re: World Cup 2015
Pardon my ignorance.....why are the scores so high these days? How does Ireland chase down 300 so comfortably?

Bigger bats = easier to hit 4 and 6's
T20 would have had an influence on the way the 50 over game is played too.

Fielding restrictions have also changed - only 4 outside the circle. Oval boundaries much shorter, even at MCG. Any team that doesn't get 300 on a decent pitch will get beat in the quarters and semis.

Reckon you've nailed it Slippery but I'm I reckon one of Tuohy and Sheehan will play, probably for Whiley.

Once Bell came back properly from his finger injury, he gradually cranked up his form and finished very strongly. Cripps might need to show a bit to earn a spot before Dinger.........

Whiley, Bell, Tuohy and Cripps certainly the hardest to assess. Maybe Whiley and Cripps  too similar?

Pretty good summaries.

Wasn't a great day but even worse when you consider the lack of positive points from our younger players.

Temay is gone at year's end - was basically a bystander against the second bottom team in the VFL. Delist.
Bootsma was terrible and flogged by both the forwards he manned.
Graham got heaps of the ball but was either caught or kicked it short to a contest. Looks more like an Ellard than a Murphy.
Giles is a long way off.
Watson injured - his man had three shots on goal before he went off.
Holman showed some poise and is a good size - didn't get heaps of the ball.
McInnes was good but mostly because he found space rather than for his defensive skills.
Cameron Wood was dominant in the ruck - but wouldn't play him in front of Casboult.
Cripps was incredibly influential in the second half. Took marks and was strong around the packs. Even brought the team together for a bake at the end of the first half. Shows leadership, talent and footy nous. Not sure we can fix his speed. Definitely has a big future in AFL.
Armfield was better in the second half however his skills are rubbish and has lost some pace. Not the future.
Johnson was ok, Sheehan showed a bit and is a great size. Byrne was out his league and will take a couple of years.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: RD 4 : BLUES Defeated By Demons (Pathetic & Pitiful Post-Match)
We kicked four goals after the 10 minute mark of the first quarter against Melbourne. Just let that sink in for a minute.

Spent $480 on a membership this year. Total waste of money.

Can't believe how little vigor was on display around the ball. Malthouse said in his press conference that Murphy was pushed forward to take Jones out of the play. Nathan Jones, that superstar from the previous worst team in the AFL.

Day was summed up by Gibbs shot at goal in the last quarter. No care.

The game plan does not suit our team as we don't have mobile tall targets - and we can't hit targets by foot.

Reckon this is much worse than the Pagan era. Heads must roll.
