Carroll got 32 touches today Billy Wilson got 24 today Binns got 21 and a goal today Durdin got 15 and a goal
All are younger and have performed to the same level as Fantasia (or better)
Carroll had 2 tackles in 19% TOG on Thursday and backed it up today Fantasia had 2 tackles in 55% TOG on Thursday
But do they run the “right patterns” ? Do they clog the oppositions midfield when we need to defend and present an option/get out of the way when attacking ? I think there’s too much micro managing on what Orazio/Durdin don’t do (kick goals)
On the MC issue I don't even get why we keep starting Carroll as Sub while Fantasia's output is so low, or why we dropped Binns after hardly any opportunity. Surely our MC aren't suggestingf Fantasia is a deeper runner than Binns?
Ahh, we finally have an honest answer… We the great unwashed have no idea, yet there is a method to the selection and it may just be that he’s a mature body with a good footy IQ of games and patterns. Maybe with the form and availability of anyone that view will change but until then he’s performing something better than anyone else is expected to able to do.
I guess that given his output (apparently) is so low he’ll be replaced by a player who’s kicking the door down in the twos… what’s his name again ? Help me here.
The alternatives are many, but include Motlop......who kicked 4 goals against this mob as a late in last year. Kickd 2 goals or more 10 times last year as well....as a 19yo.
Meanwhile, this (soon to be) 29yo has kicked 2 goals in 10 games.....total

So seemingly by your definition it’s ok if he avoids sunburn by standing in H’s shadow, but slips out and kicks 2-3 ? No one is lauding his form but he keeps getting picked, yeah we’ve got injuries to his competitors but he must be doing something to please the selectors.
The Gold Coast had a midfield that that was mature and talented: it is better than North's and probably a few others. We had Binns, who has played less than a quarter of senior football. So, we were always under the pump. To come back as we did, after such a disastrous start, was excellent and showed character. Giving up the last few goals ... well, that is the way it goes. Gold Coast had the top 5 possession getters on the ground.
[1] Binns: you have to admire the way he works. A pity his disposal is so ordinary. He would have played a lot more if his disposal was reliable. Still, 26 possessions was a good day's work.
[2] Liam McMahon could be anything if he ever gets some body strength. He missed some of the easiest craps in history last week and still was dangerous. Today he managed 2 goals when our midfield was flogged. But he couldn't out-body me. I'm not sure who we might pick in the MSD, but we could do worse than McMahon. I just don't see him challenging for a spot against Charlie and H when smaller men out-body him consistently.
[3] Wil White is a guy I like. He is a small forward from down Warnambool way and is pencil thin, but he isn't slow and he has a nice left foot and generally kicks some goals. Definitely one to look for.
[4] Jesse Motlop had 5 disposals for the game. Was he injured?
[5] Sam Durdin and Dom Akuei won't be with us next year. Both got towelled up today. Casboult kicked 3 while Day kicked 4. I'd like us to get a taller defender in the MSD, but will any still be available by the time we have our pick?
[6] Alex Mirkov probably won't be with us either next year. He does get taps, but he gets out-bodied too easily and doesn't have much game awareness. I would give him the benefit of the doubt coming back from heart surgery, but I don't know if we can afford to keep him on if he isn't going to be a senior player. Mind you, our VFL midfield is very shallow. It doesn't doesn't matter where you tap it if the mids can't get it.
[7] Moir continues to disappoint. He has a few tricks, but he doesn't get where the ball is. It wouldn't hurt us to have him developing the 2's if we had a few more guys who were close to making it and a few less 'development' players. Monahan still doesn't get much of it, but he is more involved. he might even get a bit more of it if our mids got more of it.
[8] Billy Wilson is looking promising. 22 possessions in defence.
How did Lewis Young go crash ? Surely he had a go at Cas and Day ?
While I’m frustrated that Big Durds has not been available when needed, I’d have thought he still fitted the bill as a back up ?
I was sitting in a dentist chair in Thailand until 1/2 time, good solid win by the boys. The backline were rock solid for most of the last. When Charlie wants the ball he is unstoppable. Was Owies subbed for injury or just a rest ?

Is this the % of times these 3 are the target and we get a shot on goal as a result ? If so, I’d read that as no one crumbing Charlie and H ‘cause they don’t drop many but they are roving to TDK because he seems to spill most of his chances ?
