Most grow into the leadership role. Marc just needs to lift his consistency and win the ball at every contest, every week and the rest will follow.
I've come to the realisation he's not ever going to win the hard ball, I just want him to at least chase and tackle with intent, he must lead the way in this department if he's going to a great leader. I remember a game against North last year where he really made one stick early in the game which resulted in a goal. No doubt it lifted the side. Then I've just seen him let players walk through his tackles only to see Menzel make it stick against the same player just minutes later. That type of stuff is unacceptable. No doubt he's well liked and respected within the club. Time to make use of the influence he has over his team.

I used to be critical of 2 of your favourite players for doing the exact same thing. One, a former captain and both former B+F winners. Both were not known for getting the hard ball and were very much receivers. Both would have less tackling ability than our current captain. You support them and chastise Murph?
Russell wasn't elite. Elite is a status earned over a number of years of consistently performing to the highest standards, especially when it matters most. Russell did it for one season.
No it's not, you can most certainly be elite one year and not the next. He was certainly elite in the second half of 2009 (most B & F votes) and for the entire 2010 season.
I disagree. I don't think you can be elite 1 year and below average for a large chunk of your career.
Can you be elite for half a year? A month? 1 game? 1 quarter?? Where is the boundary.
No doubt JR played well and was very valuable to our side in that year. Was woewodin an elite footballer? No. Did he have a good year? Yes. Ditto JR.

The new 'system' is nothing more than a half-arsed change to an actual fair system. This one has riders in it that allow them to have a 'fair system' that they can manipulate to gt what they want.
FWIW, if they took out their ability to manipulate the draw so that we could play bombers/pies twice this year they would end up with EXACTLY what i suggested they do....except i said it 5 years ago. The old site is playing up, but i'd link the thread i started.
It appears we play the Tigers only once in 2014 on Grand Prix weekend. There are 3 groups of 6 teams based on finishing order last season. We are in the top 6 group and must play the Cats and Power twice. We have Bombers and Pies twice also.

R1 is grand prix weekend. We play Port Adelaide at Etihad on Sunday (race day). We play Tigers round 2 on the Thursday.

OMG you guys must be seriously dumb to even suggest those comments mean anything. LMAO he was asked the question, can you imagine if he'd come out and said "Yeah fk Mick he's an absolute tosswad knows nothing about player management". Towing the party line.

The round one game has been skating on thin ice for years anyway. With a couple of exceptions, usually the game gets built up all Summer long by Tigers fans, KB, and the media, and the game, along with Richmond's hopes for the new year, are usually over by half time.

The best R1 game between us 2 has actually been this year. Albeit we had a loss, but in terms of it actually being a good exciting game with an incredible ending, 2013 is far in advance of the other games, Juddy and Cousins debuts also had a great atmosphere, but crap game.
