Robert Heatley Stand / Re: VFL 2019 Rd 4: Northern Blues vs. Werribee
Gee that’s been woeful. Second-worst have been the umps, speaking about a lack of discipline and consistency. Still, our boys would have made a hash of anything going their way anyway. Hard to highlight anyone more than a few triers and it has to be embarrassing when first-teamers are shown up by listed-NB types. And this after the coach gave them a serious if quietly measured bake at quarter time. His post-match comments will be interesting  . . .

Other than BS and straight out obsfucation the messaging regarding Maxwell is bizarre.
The more pressure, the better. No change otherwise. Entire failure has scared CA. It's doing stuff it never has done before. But it has driven the game into the ground for cash. And the young talent progression focus at all costs has been proven shallow thinking; wonder why ... don't tell me there needs to be proof of durability proven over time and centuries...

Still, it's the states' fault.

The selectors are getting just a tad antsy about folk questioning their decision making.

JL got quite upset with a reporter questioning feedback allegedly provided to Maxwell.  Meanwhile, Wade and the Tasmanian cricket body have called them out over the statement that Wade would have to bat higher in the Tasmanian order before being considered for Test selection.  Bryce McGain reckons that’s code for “we don’t think you’re good enough.”

The premier batsman in the Shield can’t get a game on his home ground  ::)  No wonder we are rubbish ????
Feel a bit for Langer. Situation not of his making but carrying CA's can. Desperately unfair for him. For mine, the greedy swine states have let CA focus on cash only for ages. Chook army is back in the barracks now. We've been saved by certain guys over the years pulling us out the mire when we should never been in there in the first place. And that's happened even in our 90s/00/teens pomp. Remember, we failed in the UK and India repeatedly. A failure in itself orchestrated by the hierarchy. Cash not results. But it's only Tests, no money, who cares?

On a side note, doesn't matter how much you get you might give it away or worse if you're head isn't right, as Moises Henriques made plain on 7.30 Report tonight. Will be on iView I suspect. Black Dog's bitten a couple recently. No wonder the players assn was worried about the bad boys.

I'd be crying too if I lost a 2.4 million dollar IPL contract and had a to get a real job for 12 months..thought Smith had some genuine remorse but his record is smeared for life.

Bancroft..less impressed with his confession, no great loss to Aus cricket if he doesnt play test cricket again, one of the dumbest players I have seen..

Warner.....I guess he is getting some legal/PR advice and will give a more broad confession where he admits to minimal guilt and tries to save his 20/20 tournament career.

No real sympathy for any of them...they had it all and didnt appreciate the opportunities they have been given, others who appreciate it more deserve their place in the national team.....
Sure EB1. Take the point but suggest an examination of the wider inputs and implications of the crisis Is worth a go. That a personal emotional breakdown is taking place on a backdrop of a national one speaks of something deeper than some guys getting more cash than most can hope for. Bet the ex-captain would swap it for a living wage not for him and family not to be in this position. Gideon Haigh might not be to all tastes but he was righteously furious with the CA for overseeing and contributing to it all and isn't the only one.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Round 16: Green Shoot of the Week Choose ONE ONLY Green Shoot you observed from
Losing cripps,  losing white, continuing to crack in and fighting to take back the lead right until the last minute.

Screw the individual green shoots.   The story of our season has been the steely resolve.

Teams know they had to fight to get the win against us.
x2. Made an older supporter proud. And comforted that, as they grow stronger and more mature, brave losses will become brave wins. Oh and something unfashionable -- despite the occasional horrible clangers, Kerridge's resolve and leadership took a huge step up. His skills can be woeful but he was huge in the trenches and out in Crippa's absence. Dead on his feet at final siren. Must say something about how he views the club and team.

I dunno what you boys were watching, but i reckon the majority of the girls are better users of the ball than our mob!

Watched 90% of the game and loved it.

Was a bit worried about Vescio early on (1 touch in the first quarter) but she grew into the game and left me much happier about her by the end of it.

Steph played pretty well and is an excellent user of the ball. Isn't much of her compared to a lot of the girls, but she has the football nous. Thought she spoke very well at the end too.

How did she end up being captain, but still doesn't have a club?!

Of the other girls...
Mo Hope looks like a cult hero in the making. Pies made a good choice, fits their 'brand' and very marketable.
Katie Brennan is a gun and doggies may just have the best player in the comp. Got the good looks to be the poster girl of the comp as well.
Tayla Harris has a presence about her that reminds me of Jono Brown, Lions will be happy with her.

I reckon all the girls showed up the 2 girls from the legends match last night.

My only reservation is trying to spread that kind of talent across 8 teams. Very much diluting the talent, not sure how much depth there is around and if it will hurt the watchability of the game. If its anything like that though, i'll be impressed.
Ooooh, hold those horses, nothing negative about the spectacle from this direction. It's a parallel universe and will be fascinating. Seemed free of intrusive structures and all the more fun for it. I'm looking forward to next year. Not perfect and will develop. Hope the kicking does too.

Darcy Vescio doing her profile no harm at all in the little paper's property section and a particularly effective effort tonight. This is the best of the best, so the WL has to be a step down in class but it'll improve. Thought those on Marngrook presented really very well.
