Playing this many kids in a side means you will have very up and down moments.

Obviously against the cats it was very much a down moment.

This could be our up moment.....but all logic points to otherwise.

No ruck.
Half a midfield
3rd rate forwardline

We'll need someone playing out of their skins to even give us a sniff.

Curnowfides will need to kick 6!

Stevens was head and shoulders the best midfielder in the worst Carlton team of all time, Matthews, Barassi and Whitten rolled into one couldn't have done anything more.
I saw him punch the ground in frustration when the siren went at Princes Park one day after a particularly abysmal loss, so hard did he find it to accept.

Played with a broken neck for a few weeks too.

Wasn't the worst 'standard' to have been set.

I think the problem is as number 1 picks we expect them to be elite and in Murphy's case he was earlier in his career. We just have to accept them as B+ players or ship them out.

Murphy was leading all kinds of rankings earlier this year. Including better than Danger, Martin etc.

Gibbs had a purple patch that was on a par with anything that Ablett and Danger has done.

Problem we have with the above is the consistency as much as anything.

I know it's the AFL but he played the whole last half in the ruck a couple of weeks ago in the VFL and did well. He'll only relieve here but a run on the ball instead of starving on our forward line will do him good.

Mate he's stuffed. If he ever goes to ground, he just sits there watching his opponent run off. He hasn't got the tank to play deep forward at VFL level as he's done the same thing. Now it could be he simply doesn't give a stuff.....but i'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and saying its fitness.

Let Casboult and McKay ruck and just rove to the opposition. Be good for McKay to do what he did in the VFL 2 weeks ago, ruck, run around and essentially play "see ball, get ball".

McKay has struggled to run out a single quarter up forward, how long do you reckon he will last in the ruck?

Curnow as relief ruck/extra midfielder. He has the tank and nous to play there whereas McKay is just a body.

We're a game and 10 points in percentage ahead of them.
I think they'd have to win two to go above us (unless we really went to pieces).
I don't think that's something that would be in their interests ;)

Wasn't in their interests last time when they beat us to rise from 18th to 17th allowing us to pick up Weitering, leaving them with Schache....but it happens.

FWIW, i reckon they'll beat the suns and the kangas.

If our % takes a hit like this every week, might be a non-issue.
