Robert Heatley Stand / Northern Blues vs. Bendigo Gold at QEO
My computer seems to be betraying me at the moment: I wonder what happened to the first version of this?

Nichevo.

I had plans t attend this game. The Blues were playing GWS in Sydney and I have no pay TV. Therefore it was the logical step.
Alas, Logic had nothing to do with things. Famly issues arose, so my nice plans went down the sanitary facilities on the road to Hell (with many such good intentions).
I will make up for this. The school holidays are coming and I will take the kids to a VFL game sooner rather than later.

Playing at Richmond will be something of a change. Our team is still looking thin on the forward half: not a key forward to be seen.  :(
Looking at this team, I'd say Tom Temay is not going to be with us next year: named on an extended bench when we have a lot of injuries and 3 guys gone from the list. However, hope springs eternal.

Robert Heatley Stand / Northern Blues vs. Sandringham at Visy on Saturday
Sorry I am a little slow off the mark this week - it is exam week and I have been pretty busy (and I like it! It has been great having work for a change). As a result everybody has probably already heard that Judd is named to come back via the VFL.
Well, I would count my chickens yet. He wasn't sure yesterday that he would be right to play.
However, he might be right and is slated to play about half a game this week.

I have always been one to be pretty strict on playing fit players and think this is a good move. How it turns out, is an interesting question. I'd love to be there, but I doubt I will be able to manage it.

HB: Shakallis Le Grice Banfield
C: Cook Cockie Webster
HF: Ong Stanley Curren
F: Siposs Maister Markworth

Int: Gwilt Saunders Zijai Grace* Jones Minchington Holmes Graham Ritchie

Our lineup does not look a strong as it has been this season, but Judd in the midfield, even for half a game, should give that a HUGE boost.
I am a bit surprised Buckley got dropped. I don't think he is 100 % fit. I think he played last time when he shouldn't have, and consequentially played below his best. Hopefully he can rediscover that run that made him so effective earlier in the season.

Robert Heatley Stand / Rd 11: Voting for the Jim Park Medal Carlton fails against Brisbane
Sorry guys, I cannot vote meaningfully this week: I don't have pay TV and didn't see any of the game. Not that it seems like there was much to miss. Those of you who saw the game, hopefully can vote meaningfully. There must have been someone who deserved a mention. Murphy had almost 40 possessions. Docherty had 30+. Warnock had 57 taps. Statistically, there didn't appear to be much else.

Remember:
[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.

Robert Heatley Stand / Voting for the Jim Park Medal: Rd 10: Carlton vs Adelaide
It was very nice to be on the winning end of last night's encounter, but it did show up why we probably are not going to feature in the finals.
Nichevo. A win is a win is a win. So reward those who deserve a mention.

Robert Heatley Stand / Northern Blues vs. Casey Sat 10th May at Visy
Well, after last week's debacle we now have a chance to atone. Supposedly there may be a few Blues returning from injury, which should make the side stronger. However, it would be nice if we had a key forward....

Team will be posted this evening.

Robert Heatley Stand / Voting for the Jim Park Medal: Rd 7: Carlton lost to Collingwood
Couldn't really say I enjoyed last night's game. But the last quarter showed we are not diabolical. But 4 quarters are what we need to win.

Hopefully you people feel that the performance was worth voting for, as a lot of people didn't contribute against Essendon and Melbourne. The efforts were too bad for them to vote. Yesterday we were not great, but we did keep going.

Remember:

Robert Heatley Stand / Northern Blues vs. Coburg this Sat on TV
Yes, we finally make it onto the TV. We may not get many more chances, as our fixture does not appear open to more than 2 more possibles.
Anyway, it will be good to see the boys go around. Hopefully with a few players back and a little more life than we displayed last Saturday evening, down at Werribee.

The game is at Preston at 1:10 PM.

Hope to see some more votes this week.

I found this ironic: I am working at Werribee this term and just came home tonight. And the footy is being played there, while I am back in Bendigo!  ::) ::) ::)
Ah well, that is the way it goes!
This team is looking strong. Hopefully it can provide the performances we all want to see.
The worry for me is the ruck: yes, Wood is playing well and is not that far off senior football (amazing as I feel when I read what I write). However, there isn't much else there. If he goes down, the team is devoid of talls.
Not sure what we can do about this either. Unless the Preston people can recruit another decent ruckman. Nichevo. Hopefully this is a non existent issue.

At last the Blues have done it! First one for the season.
Apparently we won it with 2 men down, including Judd, who has done a hamstring?

This time we should get some votes!

I can't vote this week - I haven't seen a single minute of the game.
