2016 - Awesome, Good, Bad, Ugly, Disaster

What are your scenarios for 2016?

Awesome - Weitering beats his opponents while becoming the backline general, Plowman become that 3rd defender we haven't had since Laider and Cripps goes to a new level and win Brownlow.

Good - Murphy, Gibbs and Thomas all find top form, giving the younger guys genuine leadership.

Bad - We start the season 0-8 with Levi kicking 5 goals 15 behinds and 10 OotF

Ugly - The GWS 6 all end up playing 2s while the seniors have to use players off the rookie list.

Disaster - Murphy again goes into his shell, Kruezer and Thomas break down again and Cripps wants to leave at seasons end.

Good, seems to be a reasonable expectation to me, I think Bolts and his new coaches will do a good job of getting the best out of the players at their disposal and I think a few people will be pleasantly surprised at just how well we go.

Well that's what I'm hoping for anyway!

Ugly....only Weitering looks like  making it out of the new recruits

Disaster...Cripps does a Knee

Bad...Bolton says he wants time off to launch a book about his 5 wins at Hawthorn...employs Christy Malthouse as his Ghost Writer....

Good.....Gibbs says he is going back to Adelaide to open a hairdressing salon specialising in man buns.......

Awesome....Daisy returns to his Collingwood premiership form, Levi discovers the art of goalkicking, Essendon are suspended by WADA for 2 years, no backdating.
David Cunningham is the Rising Star because of his incredible 100% kicking efficiency.....
Andrew Walker takes mark of the year over Jake Carlilse who claims he was higher than anyone just no one noticed anything different about him...

Awesome - Top 20 picks cement spots, any of the gWS kids claims a permanent spot, finish outside the bottom 6, the odd 60 point loss but mainly competitive
Good - We establish a style of play which makes us more competitive, kids get games and show something, miss the bottom 2
Bad - No kid can claim a spot in the starting 22 even with regular game time, bottom 2 finish,
Ugly - Sometimes competitve, sometimes not but remain positive. Finish last with percentage in the 70s, one of our new guys plays half the season.
Disaster - 2015 repeat (ie mainly beaten badly or smashed, no spirit, team play, few youngens get games)

Awesome - Top 8, win a final.
Good - 8+ wins but miss finals
Bad - Gibbs has another shocker; Daisy plays less than 5 games.
Ugly - Jones becomes our key forward.
Disaster - it won't be.
Finals, then 4 in a row!

Awesome - Jamison, Rowe, Tuohy and Docherty are in career best form, allowing Weitering, Plowman, Sheehan and Byrne to ease into roles in the AFL's best defensive unit.

Good - Boekhorst, Jaksch, Smith, Graham and Cuningham have breakout seasons and, with Murphy, Gibbs and Thomas in vintage form, deliver the ball so well that Casboult kicks 65 goals 30 behinds.

Bad - We start playing unsociable football and have 15 players suspended in the first ten rounds.

Ugly - Jaksch, Whiley, Dick, Phillips, Sumner, Plowman, Lamb, Kerridge and Gorringe fail to break into the AFL side.

Disaster - Kruezer breaks down, Bolton and SOS fall out, Mathieson demands change, alternative tickets are formed, out of contract players announce that they will make a decision at the end of the season, Trigg is poached by Geelong, Murphy, Gibbs, Cripps, Tuohy and Docherty ask to be traded to Essendon.

In contract players ask for transfers these days....

Actually, the AFL should introduce a signing fee which gets paid to clubs who have contracted players poached.

Opps, maybe I misunderstood, take 2.....

Awesome - Charlie Curnow pips Weitering for the NAB rising star.
Good - Daisy plays 20+ games and finishes top 5 in the B&F
Bad - only 3 or less new players play 5 or more games.
Ugly - Kreuzer and Daisy play less than 5 games each
Disaster - Finish last and Bolton sacked - Won't happen though.

Disaster- no wins, wooden spoon, board instability and a huge financial loss with the club seeking assistance from the AFL. First murmerings of club collapse. Bolton arrested in Fiji following an Interpol issued warrant and Cripps decides to retire and then joins ISIS. Dodgy property developers begin to lobby to turn Princes Park into apartments following a radical rezoning by the council. And John Elliot returns to relaunch the club as 'New Carlton'.

Ugly-bottom 2 with only 4 wins for the year. Injuries to senior players and Bolton is rumoured to want out. None of our 2014 draft group show promise. Trigg departs following forensic audit of club shows 'irregularities'

Bad- bottom 3, with only 5 wins. Injuries to Murphy, Cripps and Kruezer gut the midfield. Tom Bell wins B&F for Brisbane averaging 94 % disposal efficiency.

Good -6-8 wins, with new draft picks only playing 3 games each while showing good progress with NBs. We average 103 points per game.

Awesome- Cripps wins Brownlow with record highest votes. Casboult kicks 67 goals for season. Murphy, Thomas and Gibbs are known as the holy trinity in the press due to their midfield brilliance and Jacksch holds down CHB. Lachie Henderson comes off a very second best after a legal hip and shoulder from Dylan Buckley.  Oh and we win the premiership.

I've been drinking. Its true.

Awesome - we finish last with respectable performances in 12-16 games, with Cripps, Curnow, Weitering performing well for their age and McKay finishing the year off with 15 goals in the last 6 games. Murphy and Gibbs have solid seasons and get traded for top ten draft picks.
We have picks 1, 4 &7 and get three AA mids to go with three from this draft.

Good - there is no good

Bad - we finish 12th

Terrible - we finish 9th and get ahead of ourselves

Not a bad idea IOT.  How about a points penalty that moves the poachers' picks down the order and moves up the picks of clubs who have contracted players poached?
