Blah-Blah Bar / Princes Park - Frothy, Flutter, Watch
It's been a while since I've been there. On the occasions I trekked East I would call in to watch training and have a small flutter on the pokies while having a lovely cold one. Are these still available to the average Joe?

What irony!

Racing NSW, the organisation that deliberately runs it's horses in the opposite direction to the rest of the country so local trainers are favored, wants the VRC to shift the date for the Melbourne Cup to prove that the VRC has a nationwide focus on developing racing!

FMD, that is Sindney La La Land at it's best!

PS; Is V'Landeys' call a sign that The Everest is in financial difficulty?

Qld also run in the WRONG direction  ;)   ;D

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Post Game Passion: AFL 2019 Rd 15: Carlton vs. Freo
First game I've been to for a few years. 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter I thought we were looking at an 80 point loss. Half way through the last I thought here we go again giving away 5 goal headstarts to go down by a kick or two AGAIN. If every player had the heart of Kreuzer I think we'd be almost unbeatable. I lose count of the times he puts in 2nd and 3rd efforts

@ Malo

We've had 3 on the licence and now into our 3rd month and it costs under $12 a month each. Had no issues

The Sports Desk / Any Punters out there?
I need a second set of eyes on something

The Melbourne Jockey Premiership

So over half way through the season the standings are

C Williams 35
J Allen 26
M Zahra 21
D Oliver 17
E Brown 17
D Dunn 17
D Lane 16

Sportsbet have Williams @ $2.70, same as D Lane to win
Am I missing something?
Other sites have Williams @ $1.60, I have him shorter

Have we passed Peak Foxtel??  :o

Tried last month to get rid of Foxtel as I got a free Premium month when I changed internet providers. This worked out well as I was off work with my knee
After the month I tried to give it back. They convinced me to be on an uncontrated $10 a month pack with about 10 channels and 5 free movie downloads.
After that month I rang up again and said while $10 is nothing I don't really use it and I really only used it for Sky Racing
The 2nd time it took half an hour to cancel it and even at the 11th hour he offered me $19.99 for mainly the racing channels
I think they are starting to feel some competition
BetEasy have free races plus free NBA live streaming..........PLUS FREE MONEy but that's for another thread

@ krudds

I've had knee pain for about 8 years. Kept tearing the meniscus and athritis. The pain continually got worse. I've had 3 arthroscopes on the bad knee as well as a tibial osteotomy as well as 2 athroscopes on my "good"knee. The tibial osteotomy was more of a delaying op.
I'm hoping the sore hip is a result of my altered walking action although I doubt it. I'll see if that settles down over the next 6 months and hopefully the left knee doesn't worsen

Blah-Blah Bar / Re: Knee replacements
Seems like the high end pain has gone. There is pain but nothing to really complain about. I still ice it daily to reduce the last bit of swelling. There is morning stiffness but I usually go for a walk. I'm sure I'll get there and eventually have the other one done as there is not much meniscus left and there is athritis in both knees.
Cheers for the input guys

@ deags

I saw the physio 3 days after I got home
She stayed about 15 minutes and was so impressed by the movement I had that she said a follow up wasn't neccessary
I have been doing my own rehab
I saw the specialist a fortnight ago, he was very happy with everything and asked how the physio was coming along.
I told him the story and he has me booked for physio next week
I haven't spent a great deal on the couch and am steadily increasing the distances I walk
