Blah-Blah Bar / Knee replacements
Anyone had one? and what did you experience?

I had one 2 months ago, had been told third hand by about a dozen people that this was the best thing they had ever done.
I'd been back and forward having arthroscopes and 2 years ago had tibial osteotomy, where they cut the bone in the leg to realign everything.
This, I was told, was 2nd most painful to a knee replacement, must be 2nd by the length of Flemington straight.
Numerous times , after 2, 3 4, 5 weeks I thought Yep, things are on the improve only to get a different pain to the previous week with the last the worst as it randomly sent fireworks through my knee. This lasted 10 or so days.
I spent weeks 2 - 7 on the lounge as I could not get comfortable and averaging 3 hours a night sleep
Had they asked me a fortnight in that we can do the other in 6 months I'd have told them to shove it.
2 months in the pain is very bearable but has it's moments
I can straighten the leg about 95% and bend about 85% but still have a little swelling
They say it can take up to 12 months

Sorry to take up your time to read this

Blah-Blah Bar / Re: KAYO
This is what I've been waiting for to watch footy. I was just about persuaded to get Foxtel Now for the footy but no need now. Kayo will cost me less than half of that for 2 logins - great! I just haven't had the time this week to get into it but hopefully next week.

There is also a 2 week FREE trial period

You can get three logins for $35 a month, so we each pay $35 every three months. Handed the reigns over to my 18 year old, who was doubtful that it would lag ect. Bought a chromecast and he thinks it's brilliant. AFAIK anything you can view on your phone can be played through the chromecast. Actually will have more sports than foxtel. GOODBYE Foxtel as I can watch most horse races through the betting sites which can be played through the Chromecast

Blah-Blah Bar / Re: Augmented Reality Games
I've not heard anything about this at all until I opened this thread, but it sounds like geocaching but given a new name, would that be accurate?

Geocaching has been around for more than 10 years. I did a bit back in Adelaide back in 2004-05.

Based on a game called "Ingress. Lady at work has shown "landmarks which she uploaded to that game appear on Pokemon GO

Some people now are strapping their phones to drones so they don't have to walk

Some are telling the UK to stop using our servers as it has caused it to crash

One person now has a boring train ride since the game has crashed

Not sure if this is a "LMFAO" or a "FMD ::) "

All the structure of Pokemon Go is from a game called "Ingress" which has been around for around 3 years or more.
Just more time for people who whinge there is not enough hours in the day to waste even more time
One day some of these people will look up from their phones and wonder where the last 50 years have gone  ;)

Blah-Blah Bar / Re: Star Wars - SPOILERS
I must be the only person, in Australia at least, who has never seen any of the Star Wars movies. If I wanted to see this latest one I guess I'd have to catch up with all of the others first in order to make any sense of it. That's a bit off-putting in terms of the amount of time involved. I feel quite inadequate at gatherings, last Boxing Day for instance, when the conversation turns to Star Wars and I'm unable to get involved.  :-\

Not the only person Cookie, Haven't seen one of them, doubt I'll get around to it either
