Anyone having a crack?

I like the romance of Preferment winning, the last true star stayer sired by the now deceased super sire Zabeel. The Zabeels love the 3200m at Flemington and Preferment has had two starts st the track for two Group 1 wins. Can see him bolting up to them around the home bend and putting them away.

Of the others Criterion is probably the best horse in the race but a query at the distance.

The Offer and Excess Knowledge two at odds.

Robert Heatley Stand / Carlton Beat Melbourne (Post Game Waffle)
BOOM!! The sky isn't falling after all. After losing Murph and jamo in the third term that was a great win.

You just need to see the thrilled look on Cripps' face after the win to realise how important it is to win instead of tanking. Speaking of which what a superstar he is. With players like him to build around we certainly have a future.

Glad Simon White got injured so Jaksch has gotten a run, he shows real potential as does Boekhorst who is coming along nicely. I think we all agreed we wanted Boeky as a regular by season's end and I think we now have that.

Watto showed he still has plenty to offer, hopefully plays out the season.

Robert Heatley Stand / Round 14 - Blues v Western Bulldogs (Aftermatch Aftermath)
Geez Yarran was complete and utter rubbish tonight. As was Casboult. As was Tutt. We probably still should have won the game. Losing Everitt and Cripps killed us.

Henderson is not a 600k forward and actually looks more comfortable in defence.

Nicky Graham another great game bar for two awful handballs. TBH if we are going isnide 50m I want the ball in his hands. Can hit up a target.

Jonathan Brown unloads on Dale Thomas after Carlton midfielder’s comments about Brisbane midfielder Dayne Beams

CHAMPION AFL player Jonathan Brown says Dale Thomas is on another planet after some of the Carlton midfielder’s assessments of the Blues’ disastrous loss against Brisbane on Sunday.

Thomas said in a radio interview after the Blues’ defeat that his teammate Mark Whiley had the better of Brisbane star Dayne Beams, despite Beams racking up 29 disposals, seven clearances and six inside-50s in the Lions’ watershed win.

“Dayne Beams had a bit of the football but his influence wasn’t that great. In that regard I think Whiley got the chocolates,” Thomas told 3AW.

But Brown said Thomas was out of form, and out of touch with reality if that was how the former Collingwood star saw the game.

“He did take a screamer but that’s about all he did,” Brown said.

“I hope he is not peddling out some of the stuff internally he’s peddled out after the game.

“I’m not sure what planet Daisy is on after the game but I don’t think Mick Malthouse would be really happy if Daisy is peddling out that stuff to the young blokes because that is really not setting high standards.”

Brown said on Nova 100 he couldn’t understand how Beams, a former Collingwood teammate of Thomas, having 29 disposals to Whiley’s seven constituted a victory for the Blues youngster.

“(Former coach) Leigh Matthews use to say if you win more positions on the ground than the other team you win the game of footy. Dane Beams verses Mark Whiley 29 possessions to seven possessions, who do you think won that?”

Brown said he felt for Carlton veteran Chris Judd and coach Mick Malthouse, who he said have stayed at the beleaguered club for too long.

“Imagine how poor old Juddy will be feeling, I think he got talked into playing again this year,” Brown said.

“It would be and most likely it probably will be (their final seasons). It’s not Juddy’s fault, he’s played really well, I would have thought. Obviously if they continue on this will be Mick’s last year, of course.”

Brown suggested Carlton should consider offloading a couple of experienced players in order to “get draft picks to try and rejuvenate”.

Blah-Blah Bar / McGrath/Lee Disgrace
UPDATE: Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee is the latest sporting casualty to be dragged into a social media storm over hunting photos.

Another image surfaced online today after yesterday’s backlash against Glenn McGrath when photos of him hunting African animals on safari in 2008 circulated social media.

The latest picture shows Lee with McGrath around a dead bleeding animal hanging off the back of a vehicle and two children posing in the photo.

One of the children appears to be holding the dead animal’s head up.

Social media users immediately responded with distaste.

I know plenty will disagree but I think this is an absolute disgrace. What kind of sicko hunts and kills defenceless animals and then poses smiling with their kids next to the carcass? Sorry but I find this extremely offensive.

Anyone seen this kid bat? More over his batting stance? Exact replica of his old man Geoff Marsh it's like a trip back in time. Obviously this kid has the aggression Geoff lacked however.
